I'm loving the Rocky Start series by Jennifer Crusie and Bob Mayer, and Cris Dukehart and Eric G. Dove do an excellent audio rendition. 5★s for Very Nice Funerals: Rocky Start, Book 2https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
The Maid's Secret by Nita Prose
The last book in the Maid trilogy and the biggest disappointment of the series.

I'm way behind with my reviews so here's a couple to kick start my catch-up:

The Templars' Last Secret by Martin Walkerreview: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
For Your Own Good by Samantha Downingreview: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
The Janes by Louisa Luna is the second outing for the unusual investigator Alice Vega. Fast paced and action packed. review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Eva Reddy's Trip of a Lifetime
by Fiona McKenzie Kekic and my review.https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I forgot I had Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara's Little People biography of Leonard Cohen to review! As always, the anecdotes and illustrations are a great way to introduce children to the big dreamers who enrich our lives.
My review of Leonard Cohen with illustrations
The Third Act of Theo Gruene by Talya Tate Boerner takes place during the pandemic when neighbours sometimes became extended families. Theo's quiet life of science changes when a bright little girl appears at his front door wearing a too-big, lime-green raincoat and asks to stay. A nice read.
My review of The Third Act of Theo Gruene
Books 1 & 2 of the Sunken Archive duology by Sylvie Cathrall, and both almost equally disappointing. 1. A Letter to the Luminous Deep

AND
2. A Letter from the Lonesome Shore

Broke Road by Matthew Spencer, set in the Hunter Valley, is an excellent follow up to Black Riverreview: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
My Wife, the Serial Killer by H.J. Garbett is an excellent debut and also a fun read.review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Cheese was the best part of Kristin Vukovic's disappointing debut, The Cheesemaker's Daughter, and the audio version was done no favours by Sophie Amoss's dreary drone. 2★shttps://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
We Are All Guilty Here by Karin Slaughter is a dark, twisty thriller combined with a family drama set in a small town. A great start to a new series.review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Late to the party with Colm Tóibín's Brooklyn, but I chanced upon the sequel, Long Island in my local street library, so I needed to start here. 5★shttps://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Unnatural Selection by Coco Cooper
A contemporary satire about a dog who acts human. Kinda weird, and fairly entertaining except for the final quarter.

The Codebreaker's Daughter: A totally heartbreaking, epic and gripping World War 2 page-turner by Suzanne Fortin and my review.https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Her First Mistake by Kendra Elliot is an excellent start to a new crime series, although fans of the author will recognise some of the characters from the author's other popular series.review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Chasing Shadows by Robert Bryndza is a thrilling episode in his excellent Erika Foster series, taking Erika back to the killing of her husband 10 years ago in a bungled drug raid and the man who got away with it.review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

This is the latest entry in one of my absolute favourite historical fiction series, and the author has continued to maintain her high standard.
