Started! Through Chapter 3 (view spoiler)[Awww, it's nice to see Alec & Seregil properly rewarded for their hard work. Finally.

Through Chapter 10 (view spoiler)[I'm enjoying seeing S&A set up their household, and helping the freed slaves and tirfaie find a home and connect to their heritage. I like that Alec warned Seregil to ask first though--like the Steward, not everyone is going to be ready to take that step or want a new name, and it should be their choice.

Dreams and murders on top of this though, not sure how it fits in! (hide spoiler)]

Finished! A fitting finale. (view spoiler)[The necromancer felt like a good way to wrap up the series for now. Man she was creepy! And reminded me a lot of where the story started, with the necromancers and the bowl... though I think nothing has quite reached that level of darkness since then. Klia's torture was close though.

I was surprised Klia was pregnant. I thought that wizards were supposed to be infertile? Maybe that is just superstition, or most, or some, rather than all... just like for some they have to stay celibate to keep their powers... no rhyme or reason to it.

The ending, founding a clan of exiles and misfits, was sweet... (hide spoiler)]

I really liked this! A solid series in my book. I do think I like the prequel trilogy a bit more though. (view spoiler)[ Yeah I think most wizards are infertile, but it kind of explained it was possible through his dragon bite?
But also, the humans got magic through interbreeding with the faie, so at least some have to have had children along the way.
Lots of the magic works here because they think it works that way it seems lol

Also really liked that ending aspect. But that they aren't done with Nightrunning quite yet :D (hide spoiler)]

Ditto that! The Tamir Triad still has more of my love, but I find the S&A stories really cozy... And thanks for that note about (view spoiler)[the dragon bite making Thero fertile... I wonder if that's also true for faie? They seem to get bit more often... And yeah, magic works the way they (and the author) think it does lol.

Agree on the ending too--open for more, if she chooses.... (hide spoiler)] I tried to find if she's talked at all about what she's working on next, or if she's retired, and haven't had luck... only found a few facebook posts talking about how she's still reeling from the election results in the U.S....

Yeah ditto that... One of the saddest things, getting older, is realizing my favorite authors are getting older too... some day, we're going to have to face the fact that the book we just read is the last we'll get...
