Ella Grace Nieto | 2 comments I’ll be starting the TOG saga but what order should in, i know some people read the prequel which came much after the first book and some say they didn’t mind reading it after so idk how to start. Also which are the ones the need to be read at the same time?

empire of storms and tower of dawn can be read at the same time bc they happen at the same time! there's a lot happening in eos and tod is a little slower. if you only read eos first you will want to know what happens next right away so it might be hard to go back to tod

Stace | 33 comments I read in chronological order with assassins blade first - it sets everything up well I thought.

I also did the tandem read for tower of dawn & empire of storms - they are set at the same time but in different locations so it was worth out.

It is an epic book series, wish I could read it for the first time again!🥰

Cassidy | 347 comments There’s a few different places to read The Assassins Blade as it is a prequel! I read it third and I liked it that way. It can also be read fourth, I wouldn’t personally read this way because I felt like there was important info for Heir of Fire! But some people like that order because it sets up Queen of Shadows well. Reading it first is chronological order, but TAB is a set of novellas so some people feel a bit bored starting there. I think about other series I’ve read, and I never read the prequel first / it’s usually not published first for a reason but it’s really up to you. I felt more connected to the main character Celaena, but starting with Throne of Glass. If you read it third or fourth there will be a “spoiler” in the prequel but I didn’t find this any less impactful. Really up to you and what you think you’ll like best!

Empire of Storms and Tower of Dawn can be read in tandem if you want because they follow the same timeline, just occurring in two different parts of the world. It’s kinda intense but I read it this way and enjoyed it! If you have a kindle, someone has made a file where it switches books at the correct part so it feels like you’re just reading one look book. Super easy! I found this on tiktok. Reading them separately is totally fine too, but EoS will leave you on a crazy cliffhanger.

Enjoy ◡̈
