(PART TWO)To be honest some of it was also just simply because of the silly ways I deal with stuff. I have some OCD about things and when the last post made went back to some of the original rules (how long the contests were) I kind of panicked and thought we had to do that again.
And I did not want to go back to making the contests one just one week again. I felt making it two weeks was brilliant and gave people more of a chance to post things they were working on especially when doing the stories.
As this contest returns here are two things I hope to do for you guys as one of the mods here on the WSS.
If it's alright we will continue the longer contests and hope to be a simple helper to try to encourage the creativity and awesome-ness that this group has been and still is today.
Sorry for the long-winded unprofessional writing above.
And also, sorry so much in general. Was not meaning to make the wait so long after what I thought was a brief break!
It seems as though we all have our obstacles this year and I'm sorry yours came in the form of family heartache, CJ. It's perfectly understandable that you'd take a long break from the internet. Real life commitments come before everything else, and part of those commitments include taking good care of your mental health. I think the two-week contest format would go a long way in helping us recuperate what we lost to our mental health problems. Maybe it'll motivate me to put out the prologue of my next fantasy novelette, Black Tar Kiss, a modern-day monster horror about incel gangs. Please take good care of yourself, CJ, before you come back to your duties here. You can't pour from an empty cup, they always say, and it's true.

It has been a long time, hasn't it? As what I thought was maybe a few months back in not posting for the group (as in maybe two or at most three tops?) has turned out to be at least six months (!) in posting a contest, I can do nothing but apologize greatly for it!
Some of it was due to a horrible personal situation with family (dealing with it for at least two years now. Ask but am not comfortable sharing it publicly here) but it was not just that which has caused my absence.
