20.2 - Rookie at the Top - SheMac's Task: Into 2025

Janus is the Roman God that gave us January, the first month of the year and this challenge reminds us of that. Read one book from the two options below.
Choose an option and read one book. Your chosen book should be at least 225 pages.
REQUIRED: State the Option

Option 1:
As well as being shown with two faces, Janus was also known for holding a key in his right hand. This symbolized his protection of doors, gates, and other openings. Read a book with either a key (not electronic) or a door or a gate on the cover.
REQUIRED: post the cover

Option 2: The Roman Empire reached its furthest extent by 117AD and had a massive influence on European and, ultimately, world culture. Read a book that is at least 50% set in one or more of these countries that were part of the Roman Empire at that time:
Albania, Austria, Algeria, Belgium, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Egypt, England, France, Gibraltar, Greece, Hungary, Iraq, Israel, Italy, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Luxembourg, Moldova, Morocco, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, Syria, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine, Wales.
REQUIRED: If the setting is not evident from the Goodreads page, provide a reference.

What about Sipsworth by Simon Van Booy for the door. She is standing with the door open, but you do see at least part of the door.

Robin P | 1609 comments These are obviously supposed to be doors, since that's the title of the book, but they are doorways. Does this work? Are any of them clearly enough doors?

Doors of Sleep (Journals of Zaxony Delatree, #1) by Tim Pratt

Great, thanks! I had planned to use it for green cover on another task, but it wasn't officially enough green.

That looks like a doorway to me. I haven't read the book yet (it's on my TBR), but I believe it would also qualify as more than 50% in Egypt based on the description and reviews of it.

This cover only shows a partial image of a gate. Will this work?

message 20: by Mrsgeo (new)

Mrsgeo | 301 comments Definitely a gate, so it works.
