Crossstick | 2 comments I'm a few chapters in on Tinker, Tailor, my first le Carre. I saw the 'Spy Came In From The Cold' movie and prefer book impressions. I'm a young senior and not part of the 'M-TV generation'. I can focus on topics for fairly long periods. But while I appreciate le Carre's inclusion of extreme, minute detail, I'd appreciate if the story would come to points sooner. I think I could read every third page and keep up with the story. And the British-isms. I'm having to stop and look up definitions, all of which cannot be had. I keep up with the spy trade lingo just fine. Nevermind why. :-) I'd appreciate recommendations on how best to read le Carre. Thank you!

use a Kindle and use the Oxford English Dictionary (it's UK based) as it helps a lot.
