Welcome to our Dec 24/Jan 25 buddy read of The Golden Dagger The Golden Dagger (Bobby Owen #29) by E.R. Punshon Book 28 in the Bobby Owen series first published in 1951.

Scotland Yard's Commander Bobby Owen is in a quandary: he got a phone call saying there's been a murder at the country estate, Cobblers, but he can't find a body. There are two missing persons, one of them a famous best-selling author, but all he can find is a village full of very likely suspects and an expensive Bromberg that everyone says belongs to the murderer. What murderer?

Please feel free to post spoilers in this thread.

I enjoyed this entry a lot. It is more of a traditional mystery than either the one with the haunting piano music or the one with the woman of extraordinary beauty (that Bobby never sees).

Vanessa | 51 comments This was alright. I thought it lagged quite a lot in the middle. The gap between when I figured things out and when Bobby revealed them was too long for me.
