A month away, but since things may get chaotic over the holidays I'll add a tentative reading schedule.

Week 1 (Jan 5-12): Volume 1, Chapters I-VIII
Week 2 (Jan 12-19): Volume 1, Chapters IX-XVI
Week 3 (Jan 19-26): Volume 2, Chapters I-VII
Week 4 (Jan 26-Feb 2): Volume 2, Chapters VIII-XIV
Week 5 (Feb 2-9): Volume 3, Chapters I-VI
Week 6 (Feb 9-16): Volume 3, Chapters VII-XV

The chapters appear to be short, but if people are falling behind we can add a catch-up week somewhere in the middle.

The ebook is available on Gutenberg.org as three separate downloads (one for each volume), and that's what I'll be reading. If your copy numbers the chapters differently, let me know so I can add more information to the schedule to keep everyone on the same page (haha).

If you like very long audiobooks, I noticed that there are some posted to YouTube for Hester. I clicked on the video for Volume 1 and it was about six and a half hours.

I plan to join this. I have an app on my iPad called QuickReader. The name refers to an option to time your reading. But you can ignore that, as I do, and just download and read free books from Gutenberg and several other public domain sources. It is handy when our choices aren't widely available, and I can make the print bigger, since many of the older books have tiny print.

Librivox also has Hester available as an audiobook in three volumes.
You can find them here.

Hedi | 1079 comments I was planning to join this read, but now I am realizing that my edition seems to have much less pages/ chapters. I have only 15 chapters.

Hedi | 1079 comments After researching the LibriVox links, I have realized that my edition only consists of the 3rd volume. So at least that is not a riddle anymore. I guess I will have to download the Gutenberg versions or listen to Librovox - both not particularly my favorites. 🙁

I hope you're able to join, Hedi!

Hedi | 1079 comments Thanks, Lori. Thanks to the Gutenberg downloads I have already started with the first volume and it is going better than I thought. I hope I can keep up the pace in the coming weeks despite having a lot of work in the office during January, but I am already 25% through the first volume.😊
