After a couple of Wharton reads have been disappointing for me - this one looks to be close to her best. :)

Would have loved to find out how her son got on in later life - how the mother son relationship turned out and how Undine was when she grew old.

Undine is one of fiction's great ruthless women - right up there with Becky Sharp & Amber.
