cadey hillard | 61 comments I recommend mood reading, read what you feel like reading. Whenever I get in a slump I find a mystery/thriller book, usually by Freida McFadden, and it seems to do the trick lol

Tasha | 318 comments You might need to switch to a different hobby you like, forcing it in my experience sends you to a bigger slump

Anne Of Cleves | 6 comments i honestly cannot reccomend this book enough for a reading slump, but unsent letters by nina morgan. its fast paced, easy to read and super short, it helped me get out of a super long slump. i got it on kindle.

Jenna Bracy (semi hiatus cuz school) | 327 comments Freida McFadden books are really good for getting out of slumps. and I wont recommend this author for anything else but Colleen Hoover is good for getting out of slumps as well.

Sara Horvat | 16 comments I just go and grab my favorite book, because familiar stories can feel like comfort food for the brain and help reignite your passion for reading. Or, if that feels like too much, go for some short book, -it’s way less intimidating and gives you that "I finished something!" feeling.

Aarushi (aarushiagarwal) | 102 comments i normally put on a audiobook, a fast paced fantasy/ thriller

jasika ‪‪❤︎‬ | 5 comments I suggest switching it up to audio books like on audible — or reading shorter and lighter material —- i.e i was in kind of a slump and was listening an audiobook of this funny Christmas story — it was perfect for the holidays and enjoyable :))

annabelle | 622 comments oof been there done that and it really does suck. there are a few things you could try:
-take a break until you feel like reading again
-pick up something really fast paced that you won't be able to put down like a thriller
-reread an old favourite
-get new books and read them lol
it's important not to put pressure on it but hey, sometimes being intentional and this sounds sooo type a so forgive me but like putting a timer on and then reading until the timer is over without distractions or putting your phone away or whatever

Yumile Gina | 123 comments I've been in a reading slump for MONTHS😭😭 Idk how many books I've just plain dropped no matter how interesting they were.

I had to set a "small" goal which was to read something everyday. Actually, FORCE myself to read sounds about right. My reading slump is pretty much gone. I'd advice you try that or read a book that REALLY interests you. Just one book to get you back into the reading game. Read it when that slight reading mood hits you though otherwise it'll be a pointless effort. For me, that book was God of Fury and I read it while listening to the rec music list plus my own music list. I also buffered any distractions from my reading, solely focused on reading and guess what, I've been reading for 2 weeks now and am so proud of myself :))
