Frank Peters | 1 comments Hi all,

This year, I published my debut mystery novel, The Girl at the Window (Het meisje bij het raam), in the Netherlands. It has been quite successful so far (nominated for a national book prize), and the ratings are positive (you can check them out on my Goodreads profile). I believe the book would also appeal to English-speaking readers, so I’m aiming to expand my readership. To do this, I plan to release a translated version in English—initially as an e-book, with the possibility of a hard copy later on.

I’m currently in the process of translating it myself, using a translation program and some good old-fashioned common sense. However, over the next few months, I’m looking for a beta reader/editor to review the translation and provide feedback.

As a self-published indie author, I don’t have a budget for professional proofreading, so I’m seeking someone who is excited about participating in an international reading, editing, and publishing project. In exchange, I would be happy to credit you in the book’s acknowledgments.

Here’s a brief overview of the novel:

Genre: Mystery (one reviewer described it as Dan Brown meets cozy crime)
Word Count: 76,000 words

Content:
Rick Walters, an amateur genealogist, uncovers the name Marie de la Motte in the archives of Delft. In 1666, Marie persuaded Willem Bolnes, the brother-in-law of the famous painter Johannes Vermeer, to escape from a workhouse in Delft with her help. Where did their journey take them, and what secret did they carry?
Rick, alongside Sandra Mulder, a well-known TV presenter, embarks on a thrilling search to uncover the history of Willem and Marie—one that proves even more exciting than they could have imagined.
The story is set partly in the 17th century and partly in the present day.
