After the disaster at the mill, the Baudelaire children are sent to boarding school - which, of course, is a dismal place inhabited by very strange people. And Count Olaf is not far behind. But there’s a ray of sunshine through the gloom, in the form of Duncan and Isadora Quagmire, with whom the children soon become fast friends.

This one was a lot of fun - in fact I think it’s my favourite in the series so far. It was good to introduce some new characters and the twist at the end gave the book (and possibly the series) an interesting direction.
