Yes that will work
Please can you confirm that The Underground Railroad works for set in Victorian times - there is no date on GR page But this page https://www.smithsonianmag.com/histor...
states "The Underground Railroad takes place around 1850, the year of the Fugitive Slave Act’s passage. It makes explicit mention of the draconian legislation, which sought to ensnare runaways who’d settled in free states and inflict harsh punishments on those who assisted escapees."

Thansk Katrisa
Katrisa -Would The Elusive Mrs. Pollifax work for set in the 1970s? It was published in 1971, and Mrs. Pollifax ends up in Communist Bulgaria. There is a description of a visit by Leonid Brezhnev, who )per the internet) did in fact visit Bulgaria in 1970 and 1971.
Thanks!

I'll accept that. I did a bit of digging too and it seems that there is a general consensus that it is set in the 1970s due to, like your example, some of the political things that happen in the book.

Thanks - I appreciate it!
Do dual timelines work if one is in the 1970s? I'm looking at The Book of Cold Cases and The Final Revival of Opal & Nev
Jen B wrote: "Do dual timelines work if one is in the 1970s? I'm looking at The Book of Cold Cases and The Final Revival of Opal & Nev"The default rule is that it must be at least 50% set in the target setting - so as long as it is 50% set in the 70s then it will work

for word matching the verse, can it be in the subtitle?i.e. Land & Abroad in Japan: Ten Years In The Land Of The Rising Sun

Yes. It is my understanding with the rules clarified earlier this season that subtitles count as title unless specifically disallowed in the task. So you are good!

I recently went to my high school reunion. I haven’t lived in my hometown of San Diego for a few decades now, but it is always nice to go home. I hadn’t seen my high school friends for many years and it was fun to see how much we still clicked even though we have taken different life paths and live all over the country now. This task is dedicated to this experience.
This is a 2 book task. Choose an option and read a book A and a book B for your chosen option
Required: specify your chosen option.
Option 1: Valhalla
My high school was named Valhalla, where the souls of the valiant reside in death.
A - Our mascot was the Norsemen. Read a book from the first 20 pages of this list of books about Norse mythology
https://www.goodreads.com/shelf/show/...
Required: state the page your book is found on
B - Hammer of the Gods - When we entered our high school as freshmen and when we graduated we traversed the stairs (up as freshmen and down as graduates) under a rainbow bridge and touched Thor’s hammer for luck and they played the Led Zeppelin song “Immigrant Song”. Read a book with a word of at least 4 letters (words must match exactly) from the first verse of Immigrant Song:
“We come from the land of the ice and snow
From the midnight sun where the hot springs flow
The hammer of the gods
Will drive our ships to new lands
To fight the horde, sing and cry
Valhalla, I am coming.”
Required: State the word.
Option 2: The Reunion
A - My Friends - It was so fun to see my friends! Read a book whose author shares a first name with one of my high school friends: Dan, Daniel, Heather, Kristin, Jenni, Katy, Adam. Names must match exactly.
B - The venue - Our reunion took place in the Gaslamp Quarter in San Diego. The Gaslamp Quarter was renovated to be what it is now in the 1970s and is fashioned to reflect the Victorian age. Read a book that is set in either the 1970s or the Victorian age (1837-1901).
Required: If setting is not obvious from the book page or GR metadata, provide a reference.
