Hello! I know it's been a while since your post, but this looks interesting, and I'm interested in a critique trade.I have a 132k word high fantasy crime novel set in a secondary world inspired by South Asian cultures.
Here's a brief logline:
In a nation of people who have the power to shape matter with hand gestures, Akshara works at the port catching cheating traders. Suspended for misjudging an honest one, she despairs for any job that pays for her ailing father’s treatment—even an inquiry into the murder of the very man she misjudged. Her pursuits unravel the handiwork of a palm-maiming serial killer bent on a quest that can reshape the nation’s future.
Let me know if you're interested.
Thank you,
Aditya
Hi Noah - I'd be up for a swap! Please see below info about my story and let me know if you'd be interested!“The druidic Lifebearers and the mystic Stormcallers must band together, for when the Nameless Prophet rises, their gods begin to die.
One snowy day, Ophera, a mistweaver of the Stormcallers, receives a dire warning that an ancient nefarious cult has arisen and encroaches on her tribe’s lands seeking to twist the souls of those unfaithful to the Nameless Prophet into its squalid acolytes. As time is of the essence, the girl departs on an urgent journey to beg the help of the Lifebearers in hopes that both priest tribes will settle their differences and stand together against the coming menace.
But the other tribe is also facing collapse, as their sacred Skytree, an endlessly tall oak in which they dwell, rots from within. Dionis, an elementalist of the Lifebearers, is sent to retrieve a dangerous artefact that might be the tree’s last chance.
While the cult grows stronger, the tribes’ gods weaken and so do their powers, as they succumb to a crisis of faith. To vanquish the unknown god, the clans will have to perform sacrilegious rituals, summon malevolent shadows and make heinous bargains for power. Or see their faith wither with the fall of their religion, and turn into the very monsters they seek to destroy.”
Word count: 120k
Genre: Adult Epic Fantasy (with elements of dark fantasy)

My name is Noah Page. I am a Debut Author and artist looking for beta readers or Swaps for my pre-industrial flintlock fantasy, “Of Stone and Steel.” The Novel is 135,000 and the first of many set within my world, Imparavan and belongs to my first series “A Chronical of Shepherds.”
I am a soldier and an artist living in the pacific northwest and have been working on this series for year across my many different countries and cities. I believe that we as story tellers are products of our own ecosystem. Due to the rather specific nature of my occupation and upbringing, My story tends to hyper focus on a on themes such as brotherhood and plight in the face of an insurmountable foe. I would be thrilled to accept assistance from any who are willing to help me realize my vision for these books, especially if you do not read much in this genre. I am a 27 year old man who was raised by a single father and have been in the military since I was a teenager. One of the hardest things for me to come by is diversity in viewpoint. I am willing to read and provide my opinion on anything you send me regardless of length. Below is a small blurb of the book.
“Brotherhood, the word has grown to be little more than a distant echo in Thenrik’s ear. The ones given to him by nature were lost long ago, and the ones he made on the field now live in this illusion of peace. An illusion that Thenrik has no desire to disrupt but has never been able to find his place in. The boom of industry is sweeping across Fenolor like an insatiable fire. Magic has become a singular term to muddle together the use of divine senses as foreign weapons of never-before-seen lethality promise to change the landscape of modern warfare forever. And at the heart of it all, a boy bearing the same Sight that Thenrik was cursed with so long ago.
Is it possible that another Shepherd has been born to the world by the mighty Iatomni? Could it be that Thenrik has stumbled into a brotherhood just as profound as the one that was broken so long ago? And has the time come at long last for them to stand against the very beings that gave them breath? All these questions and more Thenrik must answer as he attempts to unravel this riddle.”
