a bit yeah! she's like, a pathological liar and kleptomanic who is very bubbly and optimistic, loves meeting new people and making friends. She loves her family and would never harm her loved ones, but she is also insane and likes the way blood looks, loves taking things that don't belong to her, and occasionally slitting throats for them. absolutely has a knife collection

@Howler You have the Arachniad Mother right? I was thinking, for her and the Lady (who I'm thinking I'll prob name Zara), they have like a sort of mother/daughter relationship but aren't biologically related. I'm currently thinking that Zara was an orphan, loving on the streets and picking pockets and such, and then maybe the Mother found her and... well, let me know what you think.
so I do, an older brother and younger sister, BUT I have written this character with even more siblings before so I mean; if you want to make one you can! Usually I have this character with a specific backstory of a jealous brother who was once close but hates her and the sister because their parents like the girls more than him, but tbh I am open to a lot more with her so we can absolutely collab on something new and I’d be happy to!!
@bella i do! and yes, that would work. maybe those two could be closer than aratara is with the rest of her so called “spiderlings”, since they’re all sort of her children in a way. she could’ve been one of the first people she let into the gang

@bella that’ll do just fine. since aratara is forty-three, she would have taken her in when she was anywhere between late twenties to thirties, i’m assuming, depending on how old zara was when she was found. thanks bee!

I’m looking through peoples threads for anything, and it seems like a lot of us have a noble so that could be very interesting dynamics, and everyone seems pretty different personality wise

oh heck yeah. i was just trying to find a reason for her family to have power and status in a world without money. i think having a private militia that acts as the police force of the city is another very good reason for the status of nobility
as for dynamics, rory and i still need to work out the melding of our families. i think the ellington-wyvers are definitely trying to pick themselves back up from a fall from grace, so they might have tense relationships with everyone else? fae is going to be all charm to their faces but probably hate them for clawing at her family's power (even if they aren't actually doing that, that's her perception)

okay awesome, thank you! Yeah so I’ll have my noble focus on combat and policing and such, but the way they go about it probably pisses off some people since they’re trying not to abuse that power, and both my Hayden matriarch and the one on the council are very anti-police abuse and probably want to focus on protecting the people who aren’t noble as well
And ooh! I like that. I think Katarina’s genuinely kind but she’s also not stupid. She’s not cruel but also, isn’t afraid To tell someone off in a way. Councilor daughters more bitchy but it’s fine
Caledonia’s also like, wanting to use her power for good. She’s from the streets and so cares about people more than the nobility so

i actually love that so so so much. i think we should open up a section of claims for that police force. would they be tied to any particular noble family? bc that would be so sick. and you would get whatever claims your characters would have within that of course, but i would love it if there was room for collaboration with others taking policing/militia/military roles
seems like the nobles as a whole so far are really good people. i think they're all going to get along so well. fae is going to be out here thinking everyone is playing 4d chess but no it's just genuine kindness

yeah i dig that. rory and i will figure out the claims situation and then get back to you on what you will have for your characters bc it's your whole family situation. im initially thinking of putting a little noble explanation and then having these new claims beneath the hayden family so it's clearly tied to them. so like (names pending) the mom would be the head of the military and then the councilor daughter would be a sergeant or something?

just character building. maybe her mother forced another position? distrust? i'm not sure, but truly we only added that to make sure other people might have some sort of leadership there. it is zero hardship to remove it

if there's any actual anxiety that takes away from the fun factor and we can remove the second sergeant. no biggie
see that’s the thing. It gives me actual anxiety bc this particular character comes from a somewhat personal space lol so I tend to get control-freak-y at times which isn’t good
But I need to work on it HAHA so no let’s leave it and yeah, we can say her mother and a therapist Ike, forced another position? That’s a smart idea, because her mom wants to help her and maybe thinks this would be a good idea? And she’s probably pissed at her but like, maybe sort of gets it, dunno
Bc truly, I want people to have leadership positions, genuinely. That’s the main reason I want it to stay I genuinely don’t want to be a hog lol I just get anxious wooo

ezzabee 🥺🥺🥺🫶 you're so strong. <333 i get anxiety over roleplay and characters too, among other things that seem silly or whatnot. it matters and it's real. characters that are pieces of you can really have that effect and the fact that you're willing to try is so fantastic, but do not push yourself. this is a negotiable thing, okay? <3 nobody would think you're a hog. your idea, your part in this group. you have say so. <3
liz i totally get that, that’s such a mood and honestly it’s so relatable. however, i find that if you think about the character more, and you compare them with every story ever, you’ll realize that the character is going to develop and that you should let it happen naturally. let the character develop in more ways than one :) they can be nervous, too, but they can also interact with the other person
