hi gang for the investigator can i make a ci i think i mentioned this to rory once
miscommunication I guess, I just felt like I wasnt aware plans were changing until they were changed and I wasnt included in the discussion when originally I'd planned to collab with isabelle?
I just felt cut out I guess, i know that wasnt the intention I just felt that way
but i do wanna discuss the investigator

im sorry that i went back on any collab we had started. i truly don't remember having anything concrete for that character beyond edgelord man and i really wasn't feeling that, but i am deeply sorry if there was something more that i have forgotten about. it is very in my nature to forget things, and i would believe that it happened here. rory asked me about this collab maybe an hour ago so it's absolutely not that this has been in the works for a long time. i do still want to collab with you, for this character and others, but i need it to be something that i have inspiration to write, and that edgelord sergeant was not doing it for me in a way that i was happy with. this new character is still a blank slate beyond mother in her 40s-50s, so i am still more than willing and excited to collab with you on her
It’s okay. I appreciate it. I get it, having a character you have no inspiration for isn’t going to work. So I get that, and it’s much better to have a character you prefer to write. Sorry I wrecked everything, sorry for my feelings. I’m just so used to always being excluded that maybe I misread the situation, and was kinda hurt when I realized everyone was building something without me that I thought I’d be involved in.

we are absolutely not excluding you and i have zero intention of ever doing so. i have already told rory and callum that i needed to cement some things with you before i could get back to them about personality and backstory stuff.
so, speaking of that, did katarina form the militia? if so, when? because i think it could be fun for my character to have been a close friend with her growing up and she was a close confidant when the militia was forming/katarina was taking over

Alright, so, I've got this plan for a cousin/friend for my character, Draven Delacroix. He's 18, and head of the house. So, for this character, she would be the daughter of Eadric Calicoso, you'll have to talk to Elizabeth tooor possibly the daughter of Eadric's younger brother. I was thinking she and Draven would be around the same age and might have a sort of grumpy x sunshine friendship dynamic.
I'm also open to other friendships, although... Draven's friends would prob all be nobility...
Anyway, let me know if you're interested.

and I hadn't thought she formed it, honestly. In my mind, the family had long established the militia for generations, BUT, I think Katarina is working to make a it more of a just system, especially after she adopted a kid who wasn't a noble. theyre trying to make it a system that actually protects people, and not just the nobility, that isn't biased, etc.
and yeah! I'd be down with her having a friend! She was close with eadric and his deceased sister, but kinda pulled away from eadric the past twenty years bc of his and the calico family's classism, so having a friend is actually a good move!
and then rory what were your thoughts about the investigator?
@rory speaking of investigators, i have the other one, so what would their relationship look like?

okay yeah bet that makes sense. the militia holds more power when it's been around for a longer time. if katarina was coming in with a plan for reform, she probably would have had some people backing her up to actually make her desired changes come to pass. i was wanting my character to be from a poorer family, which i think would also tie well with what you want for her. maybe they met in school and formed close ties that went against everything katarina's family wanted for her and then my character followed yours in her passion for change and now here they are, high ranking members of the militia, still fighting to keep the militia on the right track
okay great! and yeah, that makes sense, she'd definitely need support on that. yes! I like that idea very much, as she really doesn't mind befriending people from poorer families, and unlike many nobles doesnt care about class at all. Like, aside from being made more aware of the inequality thanks to her daughter, she's never been classist, is what I mean! and yeah, I think her mother would not have wanted her to have close ties with your character then, as her mother was very...stringent on that front and wanted her to marry her rich best friend, etc. YES

I have a little time now! I was thinking about making her the same age as Draven or possibly one year older? I don’t want to make her any younger than 18 if that sounds good to you.Just realized I have to make a post in the claims thread for her, so I’ll do that in just a sec lol.

No worries! I've only been on sporadically the last couple days because my work schedule is all weird this week.
I read through Eadric and Alianna's forms. Since this character is supposed to be more sunshine-y for the collab with Bella, I was thinking my character would be more of a silly, slightly spoilt, and perhaps a tad naive or at least carefree person? I'm assuming that sort of personality wouldn't be on Alianna's good side haha. That's just my initial idea though. I can always adjust or change to make it mesh with your characters better. I noticed most of the Calico family members have names starting with 'A' or 'E'? Was that an accident or is there a theme for their names that I should keep in mind when trying to figure out a name for this character?
OMG THE LETTERS XD um no it’s okay, you can do whatever you’d like. The A thing was a funny situation in another group I have Alianna in, her whole family minus Eadric and his siblings were A, but I did do Eadric’s siblings as ‘E’ on purpose. (Except idk if Bella did Esmeralda as an ‘E’ on purpose or not). But honestly it’s up to you, I am not picky whatsoever, I’d just say choose whatever name you’d like :)

Oh great, let me know if you have questions! And yeah I think that works for me? Alianna would of course probably not like her if she’s like, overly nice. And if she’s silly, and naive, it’s possible she’d get on Alianna’s nerves if she was too “bouncy”, if you know what I mean? (Apologies Alianna is like my worst character in this group lol). But yeah, if she’s so sunshine-y, Alianna would get irritated. Meanwhile, Eadric would absolutely spoil her though. He loves his daughters but did favor Alianna, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t love his other daughter(s) as well! So he’d probably get your character anything she asks for. And now that Alianna is gone, even more so.
But yeah I like that personality idea!!
Oh! And the Calicos I believe we decided are nobles bc they own like jewels and gemstones and own that trade and stuff like that! Theyre largely one of the more classist noble families traditionally but again, your character obviously doesn’t have to align unless you’d like her to!

Okay cool thanks!I probably won't have her be overly bouncy or obnoxious or anything like that, more like she has a tendency to just focus on the positives that makes her sound oblivious if that makes sense. I think she'll be more of a goof who's used to getting her way because she can just bat her eyelashes or flash puppy dog eyes at her dad lol. So probably a little bit shallow also.
She probably will have some classist thinking since that's the family she was raised in. I'm not sure how much yet. Since I'm making her more of a shallow, happy-go-lucky, thrill-seeking character, probably she'll just be parroting things she's heard her parents and siblings say on that issue without having ever examined it too closely and without trying to decide what she thinks for herself. I love that they own gemstones and things too!
She'll most likely have looked up to her big sister a lot when they were younger. I imagine she probably tried to copy how Alianna dressed and things lol. If Alianna got visibly irritated with her for something she said/did, she'd probably just stop doing it around her to keep the peace. If she felt like Alianna didn't like her or was constantly bothered by her, she'd probably start avoiding her altogether at some point when they got older.

Gotcha! I won't make her be a total ditz or anything. She'll probably have more smarts than she lets on; she just may not always choose to use them for one reason or another.

oh yeah that works for me! and i think, if she ever gave an indication, like, later, that she was ever beginning to think things alianna deemed "unacceptable", she'd probably get meaner, but if she's just parroting stuff back right now, the most alianna would be would be annoyed at certain things, like copying her, or being so positive all the time?

I could make her more socially smart, which would work since I'm feeling she's going to be a pretty intuitive character. Her outer shell is very fun-loving and positive, so even though that might cause her to get written off by some people for being too silly or something, she'll actually be a fairly observant and intelligent person underneath that. Maybe I'll make her be the sort of character that has a lot of potential if she ever decided to really tap into it.

Yes, that's exactly what I had in mind for a character arc for her! I was thinking through her associations with other characters and the group plot progressing and things that she'd start to mature into a more independent thinker.
Okay, good to know. She probably didn't have any ideas Alianna would have disapproved of before she disappeared, but that might have changed after she left or during the course of rp.

Do ya'll want to do an arranged marriage cause I really want another female character and it sounds fun to give her noble lineage if you guys like? That is of course if the character paths for Aliana and Draven don't match to Esmerelda's standards.

@alpha That's something I've been trying to set up. I think esmeralda's gonna try to set up draven and alianna first but idk for sure, let alone whether alianna will agree, so I'm def open to the possibility.

well, she'd prefer someone who's more classiest, ngl, although that's Def optional, it all depends on what dynamic we decide to go for, but she'd like her to be lol. Def from an old noble family, which hasn't been "tainted" by common blood.
