i know, I'm just saying I had the same thought about my character's parents. but, like, why would both sets be dead? although his parents could def be alive, that was just the vibe I got with the whole uncle situation lol
Hey everyone! So two things:I have Aaliyah (although I feel like that’s really similar to Avaliyah. Elizabeth, if you want me to change her name so they’re not similar, I’m fine with that!) who is the Thorne sister (Nahilia's sister) and would like to establish her relationship with the other Thornes. Let me know and we can discuss :)
As you guys are probably aware, Evelyn's family, the Devoes, are open for claims! I don't know if this is the best place for it, but I thought that I would clarify a few things since I know nobility roles can get a bit confusing:
- Evelyn's parents, the matriarch and patriarch, are relatively old, as Isabella mentioned, probably in their late 60s or early 70s, so keep that in mind
- Evelyn's oldest sibling, her brother (older son) is the heir and probably a year or two older than Evelyn, who is 48 (again, as Isabella mentioned)
- The grandchildren are Evelyn's nieces and nephews, and are the grandchildren of her parents, which is why they are listed as those roles
- The nieces/nephews are Evelyn's cousins, her aunt and uncle's children (again, they're listed as those roles because they her parent's nieces and nephews)
- The sister is self-explanatory, her dad's sister
- The grandchildren can be any of her siblings' children, so if you claim one of them, it doesn't matter whose parents they are :)
- Evelyn’s sister (who I claimed as well) is disowned, so her and her husband have no contact with the rest of her family besides Evelyn and possibly her brothers
- I gave some of Evelyn's family members names (see her profile for more information), but if you claim one of them and want to change their name. that's perfectly fine! Just let me know and I'll edit her profile :) I just put them there as placeholders.

Question. So I claimed the sister-in-law of Evelyn, the older one, married to her older brother, and I was reading some of Evelyn's life to get an idea of what the situation may be, and they seem like pretty strict people. So, I was wondering if this idea for the character sounds okay: a noblewoman who is not in love with evelyn's brother but was forced to marry him for the sake of the family name? so maybe not as powerful a noble as the Devoes, but came from a still prominent enough family name to marry the brother?
And who doesn't still love the brother (either respects him or not depending on who makes him), and whatever kids they have she's probably distant from. I presume she holds no real love for evelyn either, but pretends respect at this point. Would that be okay, given what i gathered from what you wrote on evelyn's parents, they would have kind of pushed marriages on their kids? so my idea was it was an arranged marriage between evelyn's brother and my character? as it seemed their parents would kinda push for that, especially for the older brother?
does that seem like and okay setup and such/am i getting the gist of that family right, given they disowned evelyn's sister for loving a commoner?

also yeah, I was worried, the Aaliyah name is very similar, given its the same family and only one letter off? Would it be okay if they were a little more different in the name department?

And absolutely! I love that idea! So Evelyn probably wouldn't like her, but she tries to be cordial with her for her brother since she does love and care for him.

Thank you! Sounds good! Evelyn doesn't agree with how strict her parents are, so that's why she keeps in contact with her sister since she sympathizes with her and would feel bad for ignoring her.

well, so i have a devoe grandchild and what i was originally thinking for her history is that her father had her before he got married to your char and she essentially grew up away from the family with her mother (a coven member - had to get the blood ties in there somewhere 😂)? from what you already have done for her, it seems like it would fit - what do you think?

Yes!! Added drama to the Devoes! I love it! Is it Sua? I saw that you posted her, and I got excited for another Devoe :<3 So, would she have ties to the Coven through Evelyn's family or her father's? I just want to clarify :)
wait me? I’m doing the sister in law of Evelyn! So her brothers wife…I don’t know if that’s what the grandchild meant…also in my mind it was a forced arranged marriage and she’s not a coven member in my mind. Or if she is I haven’t gotten that far yet. I don’t know yet. But no the woman I’m making Is still in the family she’d want to run but hasn’t yet ?

wait so your char’s husband had sua - my char - before he got married to yours so sua’s mother is an npc coven member and sua essentially grew up with her instead of your char and the devoe family if that makes sense?
wait but there’s also another brother so which one had sua?? because would the parents even allow the brother to have done that
@aelin and rorydid either of you have any thoughts on the parents of our Stormvale chars? also, sibling relationships? Antonio is the type to be as close to his sisters as he can be, I feel like.

i originally had her down as the older son’s daughter because she is twenty-five but it would also make sense for one of the others to have had her *shrugs*

I think alaia (why do i keep referring to her as dani bc of her fc 😭) would be very close to him but being a coven initiate, she doesn’t have a lot of time to interact with him anymore?

Im not sure sua would interact with the devoes much but I'm guessing it would be a sort of neutral-positive relationship?
once I get her personality down for sure I'll let you know - same with Dani alaia
@bella soooo I was in the middle of making my char tyene and since she has a passion for music and she would so be in a band I was wondering if she could possibly be in Athena's band??? up to you, i don't mind bc I was going to make her a band member anyways just didn't know which band lol :)

What gender does the Thornes' sister's spouse have to be? I kinda wanna make the spouse but I also kinda wanna make a female character (but that's probably a male role hence why I ask).
um. so I dont know, that's complicated, because while I think as a whole Ash (who has Kieran, the son of either your two characters or the matriarch's brother, I don't know which) and I decided that he was from a more traditional branch of the family who got upset when the matriarch married a commoner. so if these are Kieran's parents, they'd probably be a man and a woman, given if they dislike mixed-class marriages they'd probably dislike same-sex ones as well based on the inability to get a solid noble blood heir alone more than anything else. also, you'd have to check with ash as from what I gained reading Kieran's template was he had a mom and a dad.
But also, Kyleigh, what were you thinking for the sister anyway? I think the matriarch's parents were quite traditional, and probably some of her family as well, but at the same time if we can make it work, that's fine too? Because given the matriarch's probably the eldest child, I can also see her parents not caring *as much* what the other kids do. And honestly, they could have been more traditional about classism more than anything else? I dont know...
because i read the matriarch's, Nahilia's, profile again, and the only person who supposed her marriage to a commoner was kieran's father, her brother, but I am also confused because in kieran's profile it says his father was classist, so I';m not sure....
I would say I think we could say these two, yours and kyliegh's, are not kieran's parents and just make two women together, because i like that idea a lot, and we could just say the thorne family used to be just more class-conscious and classist than anything else? since that's still a very traditional noble-minded thing, so if your oc came from another noble family then that's what they cared about, especially since she wouldn't be married to the eldest who was probably expected to have heirs the traditional way
yeah, i checked and kieran has a father who could be the matriarch, nahilia's, brother! so this works actually i believe

@Alpha and ElizabethSo I don't have any ideas for her yet. I'm honestly fine with either way, though! The only thing that confuses me is if my character would have any children or not. And thank you for clarifying, Elizaeth! I wasn't sure Kieran was Nahilia's brother or sister's son, so that helps :)
