@rory so, planning to get to work on Lucien's history soon. I know we do not, as of yet, have a plan for what exactly happened to their parents, but are we still doing the thing with their family being whatever poor is in a world without money? like, maybe they somehow didn't have enough food or something?
Yep! What we came up with was their parents died, and you suggested in the shadowfog? My idea was that they became "poor" because their parents' will said that their possessions went to their aunt, as well as them if they were underage which they were, and she was addicted to potions Asterath made (equivalent to drugs) and began trading away all of the family possessions for it.
sounds good. yeah, I did suggest that their parents died in the shadowfog, but why were they outside of the city? that is the question.
Their parents could certainly be the curious kind of people who just managed to end up out there wrong place wrong time?

Hmm... I was just wondering if there was any blackmailing in the past or not. But, yeah, even if there hasn't been, his thinking that he might know would add some tension, even before your character does anything.
