Rikke Nordravn (nordhrafn) | 4 comments I am sorry, but I can't figure out how to make a new edition, as I can understand I have to. Thing is I changed the cover on Amazon, and want my goodreads page for the book to reflect that as well. It's very new and have only been published for a couple of days before I changed cover. But if a new edition is needed it's fine with me. I just want to be able to set the correct cover as the main edition.

This is a link to the cover https://photos.app.goo.gl/cv3Pkw3iz8f...
And this is a link to the Amazon listing with the new cover
https://www.amazon.com/Heart-Shaped-T...

I might add it is only the kindle and paperback that I changed the cover for.

Thank you.

Martin | 36074 comments Is the edition with new cover on Goodreads yet? If not you should add it first. Once there you can edit the new edition to select as primary/default edition.

Rikke Nordravn (nordhrafn) | 4 comments The explanation on how to do it is so backwards to me. I have no clue how to do it. That is why I asked here. ☺️

Martin | 36074 comments Link to the edition on Goodreads that is at question and I will try to work out what you are asking for.

Rikke Nordravn (nordhrafn) | 4 comments I am terribly sorry, but the entire thing is so confusing to me that I am not even sure how to ask for the right thing. It's like I sit there and read the same sentence over and over, and then have to go to reddit and ask if anyone understands what it is I need to do - and they don't. I honestly think someone need to go over the wording of the guidelines, because it's 1 out of 10 who gets it, these threads on Goodreads is a pretty good indicator of that too.

So... I changed the cover after the book had been online for like 3 days, mainly because I made one (after publishing) I liked better, and so the version on Goodreads which you can find here https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2... does not have that cover at all anymore. No sales have been made, and the only one who does have this version is me, as a 'test edition' in paperback. However, I DID understand that I need to make a new 'version/edition' of the book on Goodreads to change the cover (even if I find that a bit dumb in my situation, since as I said that cover was live for shorter than a fruit fly lives in my kitchen sink), and set the new edition as the main one. - But I'm good with that.

What I do NOT understand is how to make that new edition, it has the same ASIN/ISBN (i did actually get an isbn for the paperback and hardback, but it's not listed here, should I add that?) - and that is what I need help with. I need someone to make that edition because i am super nervous that i didn't understand it properly and will muck it up.

Again i'm sorry, I had to have some poor souls guide me through what I needed to even claim the book, because I also didn't understand that a webpage was mandatory. So perhaps if you won't/can't do it for me, explain it in layman terms, with pictograms and hand gestures?

I honestly don't think I ever felt this blond in my life - good thing i fit the bill, huh? =))

Martin | 36074 comments If ISBN/ASIN remains the same you would add what we call an 'alternate cover edition', this is done using the button with three dots next to 'edit book details' on the page for existing edition.
Don't worry, on this occasion I have done this for you
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...
If you want that cover to be the main one for displays click on 'edit book details' and look for a check box to make it primary/default edition, I cannot do this for you as only authors have that ability.
