Post here if you are reading or planning on reading The Lathe of Heaven by Ursula K. Le Guin. No spoilers, please!

CJ | 61 comments Am planning on rereading this for this group, already have both an ebook and audiobook. Been too long since I first read it to spill any spoilers, lol.

Ryan Dash (ryandash) | 171 comments Read some time ago. Not planning to reread but will check in on the discussion.

I'm probably not going to re-read this, since I'm still so behind on everything, but I'll chime in on the spoiler thread if something speaks to me. I do remember really loving this one.

a.g.e. montagner (agem) | 41 comments I've read the book in January with another Goodreads group, and more recently also The Word for World Is Forest and The Dispossessed.

The Lathe of Heaven is interesting for being the only standalone novel of Le Guin's 'major phase' (view spoiler) (if she ever had a minor one): the only one that doesn't belong to either the Earthsea or the Hainish cycles. Nonetheless the dream theme, which is very prominent here, was also woven into The Word for World, published the following year.

Started this today & am surprised I never read it before.

a.g.e. montagner (agem) | 41 comments I felt the same when I read it at the beginning of this year.

It's never mentioned in the same breath as Le Guin's most celebrated works, despite being very much a product of the same period (which I would say culminated in The Dispossessed).
I will also never stop praising her ability to pack so much in such a short novel.

Natalie | 95 comments I'm almost half way through. Very interesting premise!
