Martin | 36082 comments It is a Kindle edition only sold through Amazon so we should use the Amazon cover.

It's currently going through the process of being available as a paperback through KDP printing. Would we be able to change the cover after that point?

Martin | 36082 comments When the paperback is added to Goodreads it should be added with correct cover.

Nathan | Blorko | 13 comments Sorry, I don't quite understand. Do you mean that we can update the cover then, or will the paperback need to be added as a new edition that has the correct cover? (Meaning both version of the cover will be on Goodreads)

Emily | 17634 comments Goodreads auto-adjusts the size and resolution of the images when the cover is uploaded. I don't think it would look much different.
If you have the details for the paperback, such as the ISBN, and I can go ahead and add it as a new edition.

Nathan | Blorko | 13 comments All three books in the series are available on Amazon Kindle and are in the process of getting paperbacks. Book 3 is using a version of the cover with different dimensions, so either that needs to be switched to match the other two, or Book 1 and 2 need to be switched the Amazon version of the images, because they're not consistent at the moment: https://www.goodreads.com/series/4002...

If you let me know which option is the best one, I can provide the necessary images.

Martin | 36082 comments We use correct images for each edition, images are not adjusted to fit a series. If the editions are Kindle the correct image for Goodreads will be the image from Amazon.

In that case, can the first two book covers be updated to the version that's on Amazon, so the entire series matches?

Martin | 36082 comments We do not update covers. If the books have been issued with new covers you can request further editions at 'adding new books & editions'

The covers have not been updated. The cover of book 3 was uploaded to Goodreads manually in the correct size laid out by the Goodreads specs, but when book 3 was published on Amazon, it auto-created a new listing on here and meant that there were two listings on Goodreads for the same book. These were eventually merged together, but the Amazon version of the cover was kept on the merged listing.

Now there's a situation where books 1 and 2 use a version of the cover with a different aspect ratio to book 3. Whether book 1 and 2 are updated to match the cover on Amazon, or book 3 is updated on Goodreads to match the other two, something needs to be updated so they're all consistent.

If librarians remove or replace a cover on an existing edition they risk losing their status and ability to edit listings.
Contact staff, they can perform edits without fear of such draconian reprisals.
