Evelyn (evelyntheshadowsinger) | 39 comments If it has action try going around halfway through ig? It usually gets good around then. If it doesn't then try from 60-100 and if it's not for you and doesn't seem like it will improve, don't feel guilty about dropping it

Kanomi Okina ||Emily the Seraphim|| (goodreadscomkanomi_okina) | 100 comments depends. I can read all day if my parents let me

message 5: by Angie (new)

Angie Cloud Weich (akc7078) | 15 comments Depends. Sometimes it’s at the end of chapter 1 and sometimes it’s when something I really don’t like happens.

message 6: by Hally (new)

Hally | 23 comments usually under 100 pages

message 7: by Soumika (new)

Soumika Banerjee (starlit_dreams_25) | 2 comments Honestly? If its a good book, I can read it in one sitting (Example: Any and Every book by SJM)
And if I don't like it, well I can barely manage 10 pages of it and then get done with it.

message 8: by Danika (new)

Danika ♡ (danika1) | 3 comments Close to 100 pages

message 9: by Allison (new)

Rebecca Cecil | 272 comments Depends we adopted our granddaughters 11 1/2 years ago so I have to read when they are in school or asleep. Little bits here and there when they are home. In the evening about 30 minutes then Ibger sleepy. Some nights I can go for 45/minutes to an hour.

message 11: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (michellecales) | 45 comments Around 100 hundred pages or 150 pages to grab my attention or not before I give up.

message 12: by mew (new)

mew I'll give it at least 3-5 chapters. But sometimes I will throw in the towel half way through especially if I'm starting to get frustrated with the plot or mc

message 13: by Sally (new)

Sally Chang (sallymacabre) | 111 comments On a weekday, I put in about 3-6 hours of an audio while I'm at work. When I get home, about 1 hour of a physical book before bed. On the weekends, I can do up to 8 hours if left to my own devices.

message 14: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (iniysa) | 149 comments As much as possible.

message 15: by Lani (new)

Lani Putthoff | 91 comments I do around 20-30 minutes

message 16: by Renata (new)

Silver.⋆。⋆☂˚。⋆。˚☽˚。⋆. (silvermoonlitforest) | 6 comments I'll DNF after the first chapter if I'm bored or don't like the book.

message 18: by Sim1 (new)

Sim1 (sim1saunders) | 47 comments 20 pages I know if I like the writing style. 50 pages if I'm invested in the story.

message 19: by Mike (new)

Mike | 107 comments I make every attempt to finish a book. I have had a few stinkers on my list as well as some that were misplaced when moved.

message 20: by George Stenger (new)

George Stenger | 99 comments Normally 50 pages. I am in many book clubs so there are books that I only finish for the book club. However, all my DNFs are book club selections that don't work for me at all, and I wouldn't want to discuss them.

message 21: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Goldstein | 125 comments Between 50 and 100 pages for me, usually...

message 22: by Kai's (new)

Kai's Darling | 660 comments A few hours a night.... cuz I'm too busy during the day (scwl, chores, side classes ect)

message 23: by Squire (new)

Squire (srboone) | 8 comments I don't DNF anymore. I even went back and finished Infinite Jest after a 22-month layoff. The only book I won't go back and finish is The 120 days of Sodom. It will forever sit in the abandoned pile.

message 24: by Johanna (new)

Johanna Baynard | 6 comments Sometimes I read a lot. I nap in the afternoon and if I have a good read, I skip the nap. I read to go to sleep at night. It's my sleeping pill. Other times I am too tired, can't read at night and the days are too full. I love reading.

message 25: by Amber (new)

Amber Comer (ambercomer) | 2 comments Usually between 60-100 pages if the book hasn't gripped me by then I put it down. Now there have been times where a friend or a group have suggested a reread where I have DNF'd something and i've picked it back up and pushed through and loved it past that point but that is extremely rare. You will know if the books is for you or not in the first 50 pages.

message 30: by Kai's (new)

Kai's Darling | 660 comments it depends on the book yk? Like my most recent dnf was The Winner's Crime at just 13% or another book called Shiver at abt 58 or 68%

message 31: by sarah (new)

sarah | 288 comments If a book isn’t grabbing my attention within the first two chapters then I still try to keep going but after the 5th chapter if it still isn’t happening then I’m done. I’ll try again later see if my perspective has changed.

message 32: by Mathew (new)

Mathew Fleming (mathewfleming) | 5 comments hours. But I force myself to read everyday atleast a minimum of 5 minutes. Stagnation is recession.
