Started this... I was done reading for the night, and then I lost power for 45 minutes (had to call power company and they sent a guy out to fix... whole apartment building lost power, but neighbors were fine, super localized... quick fix too, thankfully, whatever it was, but I needed to kill time and this was the easiest listen...

Things definitely escalate quickly... quick recap and right into consequences of the previous book's ending...

Nearing the end, and I have several ideas why there’s a 7th book… find out soon…

Overall, this has reminded me of the first couple books… back to a tight timeline… only 1-2 weeks have passed in the story… or that was the case with the first half of the book… there might have been a montage where some more reasonable time passed, recently…

I'm really curious to see this Terna NoMort series, since I think it'll run mostly concurrent with Tyson's series to start, then probably continue between books 6-7?...

The Saga of Terna NoMort: A BuyMort Universe Short Story is a novella, and starts pretty small scale... when she shows up in this book here, she's got like a Worldship... lots of upscaling to do...

I don't think it's necessary... it's pretty much the beginnings of a side series that hasn't been written yet...

She has a pretty small role in the story of book 6... I only know the novella exists because of the reddit searching I did a month or 2 ago, checking the status of the series/finale...

I DID kinda read ahead and read 6-7 chapters on Royal Road... I'm gonna stop now, tho... I partially read and partially skimmed, since I mostly wanted to read some dialogue and see where the story is going... past about what I read, I feel like I'd just need to read the whole thing or stop... I got the barebones answers I wanted, I think...

Started today, I see what you mean about the action, this has pretty much been all action so far which is not a bad thing for me. Through ch 18...(view spoiler)[WTAF Doofus and Axel are left in Jeopardy because Molls went to an opera with her mother?!?!?!?!?! I hate her o much, like so much, if either Doofus or Axel dies I will be so mad! Ugh I was really enjoying this up to now too, Molls is the worst and I hate her.

So does the church have to fall in this one and BuyMort in the next? (hide spoiler)]

Doofus HAS to have Plot Armor, right?... even if nobody else does...

I kinda agree with you about Molls at this point... she's a literal ball and chain that basically exists to make Tyson feel bad, half the time... so that he can spend 5 pages out of every 100 NOT in endless combat and politicking on the multiversal news network... (hide spoiler)]

Yeah I figured that was how it was going to go from the first chunk of this book. Through ch 29 (view spoiler)[and Doofus and Axel survived so that is good but man, Tyson's relationship with Axel was already troubled and now that Tyson left basically left him to die to save Molls while Axel's wife (?) was killed was not a good move. Even Phyllis gave him shit for that and she doesn't even know the whole story yet, she i going to let him have it when she does I think (and hope). I liked how they did an aside/explanation how Tyson defeated the third beholder lol Things are escalating for sure, I still hope Molls gets murdered in the face but sadly I do not see that happening :( (hide spoiler)]

I mean... even his relationship with Molls is suffering (whether you like it or not), since he's so focused on the war at all times...

His allies barely like him anymore... he just swoops in and causes devastation... he's kinda like Erra from Kate Daniels... sent by Roland to wreak havoc, then cooler heads sweep in to stabilize and consolidate...

It makes for a fun story, but you're always seeking the next conflict... something a bunch of characters mention throughout the story here... what are Tyson's plans once the Church is dealt with?... (hide spoiler)]

You shouldn't read this until you finish, but here's a summary of what I learned in the chapters I read from book 7 on Royal Road: (view spoiler)[Tyson wakes up 100 years after dying (all his accounts are wiped), after finally colliding with space debris and causing enough damage to trigger his Starfish Suit's healing...

The multiverse has continued without him, evolved/changed/stabilized?...

Nobody trusts that Tyson is really back, and those that do aren't that happy, considering his violent tendencies...

Phyllis finished de-aging back down to age 20 (she was age 40 when it was mentioned in book 6)... Axel's an old man on Earth... Earth is a tourist destination... Tyson & others have been deified for their actions in books 1-6

Molls turned off her suit and lived a normal lifespan with a husband and kids and died of old age...

Nobody knows that Omen betrayed Tyson & killed him with the ion cannon right after he killed the church...

All Tyson's friends like Phyllis & Axel keep trying to lock him down and imprison him until he calms down and he's not having it...

That's about all I read, since I felt like reading more would lead to me just reading the whole thing and it's not finished yet...

I finished (view spoiler)[and I don't see what the major issue was honestly, he escalated but so did the church with the beholders. Him expressing his ultimate plan to destroy BuyMort next was dumb, not like an AI like that isn't listening in on every conversation with certain things flagged. It was obvious where it was headed though with his former friends not using his name. I am glad I read your spoiler because I was prepared for it and I think I am less annoyed than I would have been. I was expecting a shadow cabal of BuyMort AI, like you said, but I haven't seen anything to indicate that, yet... in what we read or what I read on Royal Road...

I feel like there has to be some sort of guiding force behind BuyMort, tho, to have gotten to where it has...

There were indications that the Church was guiding BuyMort expansions into Sleem territory to control population/sentiment, but I don't remember that kinda stuff coming up in book 6 in the same way... did I miss something?... (hide spoiler)]

I read this yesterday and my first thought when the epilogue hit was (view spoiler)[oh thank GODS if it's been 100 years then maybe we won't have to put up with Molls anymore!! Then I read @Iain's spoiler tag for the next book, and (view spoiler)[it made me happy (hide spoiler)]! I had almost come to terms with her in the last book, she just really pissed me off non-stop in this one!!

First with doing a lot of stupid things like Ann-Marie pointed out, that caused T a lot of trouble and put folks in danger. Then just with all of the "my love, my mate" talk that made my eyes roll and palm itch towards my face. I probably have a permanent red mark on my forehead now. Next, from the way that she defined herself and made decisions almost solely based on their functionality as a couple, and seemed kind of incapable of having her own mind and opinions. Finally, how she had a hissy fit when Tyson was trying to SAVE THE EFFING UNIVERSE and couldn't make it home for dinner. Big middle finger to you there, Molls. Stop complaining, start helping.

I enjoyed seeing Tyson taking down the Inquisition and the Church, especially when he went and confronted Molls's mom (Maher?). Lots of great comeuppance moments. Lots of action. And Doofus and Phyllis survived, so I'm pretty happy. I'm actually really excited to see what the world is like 100 years in the future. (hide spoiler)]

So uh finished this one long ago. I don't even remember that well hoe it ended anymore lol. Idk why I always tend to forget how book ended...

I didn't enjoy this one that much. Especially the beginning was kinda boring with just story being written as one big report succession.

I am still very curious how all this gets resolved, though.

And yeah, I was always trying to defend Molls to myself but she is really just too annoying...
