I DNF'ed Powerless. I thought it was a cute idea and still want to read the book eventually to form an opinion on it. However, I couldn't move past the similarities to The Hunger Games, and I found it boring.
For authors: Freida McFaddenBooks: Icebreaker, Twisted Love &Games, To Kill a Kingdom, Bride, The Priory of the Orange Tree, Priest
for me it was iron flame to be honest. The first book I could not put down but for some reason the second book I'm having to force myself to read it. I'm definitely going to finish the book because I've heard the third one is really good but I'm really struggling.

Twisted lies ( I wasn’t..."
omg yes!!! I agree with Ice Breaker and Twisted Lies sooo much, Renegades is on my to do list from what I have seen online- what did you find that made you not want to read it?? I'm super curious to see other opinions on it

the entire twisted seriesking of wrath by ana huang
corrupt by penelope douglas
powerless by lauren roberts
The Inheritance games I could NOT get into it but i managed to read the series till "The final gambit" i tried reading "The brothers hawthrone" BUT I COULDNT EVEN GET INTO THE FIRST CHAPTER. The switching between chapters rlly screwed me up 😭
Lightlark. I went back and forth with myself on if I actually truly liked it, but ended up DNF on book 3.
By a thread by lucy score I hated the way the author made the FMC poor.....it was too much for me to handle
@lilly ♡ (semi-hiatus) i obviously respect your opinion and I don't hate you or anything but bttm and the inheritance games being on your list just hurt my heart 😭 what didn't you like about these books?? i'm so curious tbh
I started reading Shatter me but I I couldn’t continue even tho I wanted to know what all the hype about it was about it was kind of impossible for me to continue but I don’t think I’ll spoil it for myself maybe one day I’ll be able to like it.
Fourth Wing. I just have to put in the DNF pile.I literally want to become an advocate for New Adult vs Romantasy designations so I don't waste anymore money. I'm so mad I already got the 2nd book in this series that I know I need to return it as well as Quicksilver...probably just more of the same as 4th wing....oh and one with the skull on it...Lights out.
Like half of the books tiktok recommended me circa fourth wing, november ninth, any and every collene hoover book, you get the idea.
Gothikana was pretty hyped on booktok as a dark academia romance, but it fell really short for me at least.
Cruel Prince. I don’t know if I just wasn’t in the mood for a fantasy or I just didn’t like it. Didn’t connect with the characters at all and hated the plot. Ok now that I’m think about it I definitely just didn’t like it.
Red queen. It's not overhyped but I heard good things about it and I barely managed to get through the first three books, then I dnf'ed.It's not that it was bad but I didn't like the pace and everything 🥲
Throne of Glass... The first 2 books were awesome but then it got soooo slow and boring and I couldn't deal with the constant POV switches!! :( I DNF-ed halfway through book 4. With all the hype it gets I keep trying to gaslight myself that I could pick it up again and enjoy it but I know deep down I wouldn't, lol
I feel like everyone's gonna hate me for this but harry potter...dont get me wrong I lovedd the first three books and I love the whole hp world but it took me an year to finish the fourth book and I ended up dnf'ing halfway through the fifth book....it just wasn't for me :(
There Are No Saints by Sophie Lark! The hype was unreal and I didn’t dnf it, but I just couldn’t get into it. Maybe that’s why I don’t read much dark romance, although I loved the mindf*ck series!
