Everywhere I go on Goodreads I'm seeing members frustrated about not getting their notifications.

Goodreads has stopped sending emails for pretty much everything, & Goodreads being Goodreads did it without any prior warning.

Here is the notice that appeared in 'Help.' (I'm not a member of Help, but it has been linked to in a number of groups I'm a member of)
https://help.goodreads.com/s/announce...

If you got notifications under the bell only that has been changed too. I'm finding the simplest thing to do is check 'Notify me when people comment'
which appears below your last comment - or you can click 'Add to my Update Feed' which appears when you are making a comment - but usually I don't want my comments going into my feed.

Almost all my groups are quieter now. 🥴

Anna Faversham (annafaversham) | 220 comments Yes, Carol, it's been one of the best features of Goodreads, so helpful and cheering when we open our emails and see GR friends chatting to us. Now we are in danger of inadvertently ignoring people.

I wonder why they've done this?

I'm sure it will be to save money, somehow. But it is killing Groups.

The moderator of the Librarian Group is on maternity leave & no other staff member thought to post what was happening. All notifications were wiped , so the few queries that are being answered, the requester won't realise that.

Another reason why there are very few librarians helping in that group now.

Anna Faversham (annafaversham) | 220 comments I keep forgetting to tick the boxes!

I've noticed that we have to do other people's jobs all the time now - like self-checkouts at supermarkets. All sorts of things - and now tick a box (easy to forget) if we want to be notified. But - are we being notified, if so, how?

Hi Anna

You might need to ask in an Authors' Group. because you see things differently than regular members do. (unless the is a Gr author here who can help)

I see things under the bell (top right)
