818 | 3 comments Will it is hard to say. William is a bit complicated as a dad, which makes him a really interesting character. He’s loving, supportive, and treats Danny with a lot of respect and trust. Their relationship is built on warmth and a strong connection. But at the same time, William’s actions like poaching birds and involving Danny in it, might raise questions about his judgment and responsibility as a parent.

If you look at it from Danny’s perspective, William is an amazing dad. He’s fun, adventurous, and always makes Danny feel valued. However, some readers might see him as reckless or think he’s setting a questionable example. That complexity makes it tough to define him as strictly “good” or “bad” because he shows both responsible and risky sides.

What about you? What do you think?

I think he is a good dad personally. Good people sometimes do bad things and bad people sometimes do good things. I think that if we weigh our his actions in this book they are mostly good so this is how I judge him. Also I think being a parent is a very difficult job and he seems to be trying very hard.

Khulud Alghamdi | 2 comments I can't give you my final opinion on Danny's father, William, since I haven't finished reading the book yet. However, it's clear that William has influenced Danny in many ways, both positively and negatively.

On the positive side, he taught Danny about cars and mechanics, and it wasn't hard for Danny to somehow master it. He is a clever boy with many talents On the negative side, he introduced him to his awful hobby of poaching.

There is still time for William to prevent Danny from falling into this rabbit hole.

Fatimah Almahri | 1 comments I believe Danny’s father is a good father. It is true that he did some bad stuff like planning to steal Mr. Hazell’s pheasants. However, he was so angry due to Mr. Hazell’s cruel prank. He got hurt. He is poor and has lived a hard and difficult life. Therefore, I see it as reasonable for someone in his situation to have a bad personality and to be addicted to stealing. In the end, I do not support bad behavior, which is why I think it would be better if he did not teach his son an “illegal” thing like stealing.

T | 1 comments Danny’s dad falls into a gray area morally. On one hand, he is a loving and caring father who shares a close bond with Danny, teaching him life lessons and showing genuine kindness. On the other hand, his choice to engage in poaching is illegal, which complicates the idea of him being a ‘good man.’ However, the way he frames poaching more as an act of defiance against the wealthy and unfair landowners makes it seem less like a crime and more like a clever game. This makes him a morally complex character, who can’t easily be labeled as simply good or bad.

Reader | 1 comments In my perspective, William is a good dad. He supported education, learning by experience, believed in Dany's talent and passion. He also treated him well and spend time with him. Moreover, the 'illegal' activity was just stealing some pheasants. He knows his limits.

However, he might make some mistaks. He raised Dany to be an adult. Taking care of himself, feeling responsible in a negative way, and spend time with adult more than children.

Dany is a great kid. However, being involved in all the hunting and illegal activities in this young age might effect him in the future. As the first years of the human's life have a significant effect on us as humans. It is when we start to build our believes. Therefore, Dany might turn into a real criminal, not just a thief who steals pheasants.

He knows his limits? Do you think that because it is only pheasants he is stealing and because he has some "beef" with Mr Hazell, that his actions aren't actually that bad?

Hinbo Bear | 1 comments I like Will a lot. There needs to be some excitement in life and the book of course. Imagine having a boring father in this book, the plot will completely go into a mundane boredom.
