What do you like to listen to when reading?

When i’m in my room i ALWAYS put on a cd, however here are my personal favs: :)

-Softer paramore songs
-Velvet underground
-Pearl jam and alice in chains (the softer stuff)

I mostly listen to metal when I read, a lot of avenge sevenfold, Korn, system of a down, bad omens, black veil brides, slipknot and sleep token. Occasionally I’ll use rain sounds cause it’s peaceful but mostly metal

something i love doing that really immerses you into the story you’re reading is listening to music that relates to the time period set in your story. or like if the book you’re reading has been adapted into a movie listening to the score is also great!!

I try to play an ambiance video that fits the theme of the book. I just finished a Frankenstein themed book…so I found Frankensteins lab ambiance (it exists!). If I’m reading a mermaid book, I play ocean ambiance, etc. it helps me to set the scene. I also need background noise or I get distracted

i love instrumentals when I read so I highly recommend Bill Evans undercurrent album it’s jazzy it can get distracting a little bit, but I like listening to it when I read

Recently I’ve really gotten into mitski and the smiths but Arctic monkeys and Adrienne Lenker are amazing artists I listen to as well
