I've read the first book and it was super sweet. A little (and I mean little) steam at the very end, so I expect the same. But this is the same author as the Maverick Insurance Agency so it's just the right amount.
I'm just done with Ch 1. I don't remember Wendell or Hellfire from the first book, but I remember Lucroy, Phil and Sedrick, Peaches and Parsnip.
All the Pixies have names that start with P. If you go back, I'd say read Book 1. The Garden Gnomes make it worth it.

Ch 2: I remember Hellfire now. The Fairy and they are scary in this world.
I like this author's writing style a lot.

Through Chapter 5. I like that there is another story besides Wendell and Ray, though I think that, plus Wendell's murder are all related and probably with that one Alpha that Vander knows.

But I couldnt get over the weirdness of decomposition.

I think I selected for Creepy on AA, but it will be a few days. Go ahead and take it if you want.

I'm hoping he stops decomposing once the bond is in place. I'm just at where they discuss it for the first time, but we know it happens.

It’ll be days and days for me. I have 2 long ones to get thru
I love how Ray gave Wendall the Scuttlebutt Trinket. It sounds like a cute animal.
It almost seems like Fairies might be Demi/Asexual if they don't mate or feel like humans and other supernaturals.

Watching Ray change his mind about Wendall (and vice versa) is a great pleasure of the book.

I don't always object to slow burn. Apparently only when its across multiple books. :)

This author doesn't really do that.
I just got to where Trinket meets Arthur. You know he's bad. Also wondering who Djinn's master is since he seems to want Wendall too....

Ope. Just got to where Arthur is the Djinn's master. This will be interesting. Also to know who killed Wendall.
The wooing has begun, but I'm getting a bit annoyed at the constant reminder that Wendall was murdered, he died, and was reanimated and is now decaying. And that Fairies are not very communicative.
That was pretty cute and I like how Stover got his due.
I did think the Djinn was going to help, but I thought that she would bring him back slightly and the Fairy Queen would complete it since she said that she just needed a spark.
