Berit☀️✨ (berittalksbooks) | 497 comments i'm also fine with Lucy score. I mean really I could read any of these I'm just not a huge nor Roberts fan, but that could just be a psychological block?

Laura | 1148 comments Sounds like we're all good for Martha Wells. Just make sure to check your page counts with the Murderbot books. The minimum for this challenge is 150 pages and some of those books are short.

But she does have other books than Murderbot, fyi. :)

Edit: Just saw that Berit also posted about Lucy Score. Any strong preference for one over the other? My vote goes to Martha Wells.

message 153: by Berit☀️✨ (new)

Berit☀️✨ (berittalksbooks) | 497 comments as far as page count they're kind of the opposite of one another Lucy scores books are all along Martha Wells seems to have a lot of very short books.

ilovebakedgoods (Teresa) (ilovebakedgoods) | 86 comments My vote goes for Martha Wells. I actually have a few of the Murderbot books lined up that I'd love to finish. Pretty sure they're longer than 150 but I'll double check.

edit: Yep, the next one I need to read is 163 pages.

message 155: by LaurLa (new)

LaurLa | 5085 comments The particular Murderbot I'm on is 300+ pp (per Kindle), so not an issue for me.

message 156: by LaurLa (new)

LaurLa | 5085 comments So are we reading Martha Wells?

message 157: by Laura (new)

Laura | 1148 comments That’s my assumption.

message 158: by Berit☀️✨ (new)

Berit☀️✨ (berittalksbooks) | 497 comments yes! I need to start the series and this is the perfect excuse.

ilovebakedgoods (Teresa) (ilovebakedgoods) | 86 comments Woot, Martha Wells it is!

Task 6 - 1. Each player reads a book by the same author, teams decide author - no pass for this task.
Author Selected: Martha Wells
Book: Fugitive Telemetry
Date Read: 11/8
Rating: 5 stars
Page count: none of the listed Kindle editions are in English. However there is an ebook with a page count of 172, which is what Amazon shows for the Kindle edition.
How it fits: Written by Martha Wells

message 161: by Laura (new)

Laura | 1148 comments You first time Murderbot readers should know this for when you get this far. Book 7 picks up right after book 5 ends. So if you leave too much time in between books you might start out a little lost. :)

(Book 6 can be read before 5, after 7, or in between.)

message 162: by Berit☀️✨ (new)

Berit☀️✨ (berittalksbooks) | 497 comments thanks for the heads up! I will post in the morning :-)

message 163: by LaurLa (new)

LaurLa | 5085 comments I'm trying to get through my long-*ss Lucy Score book then hopefully my book for this one. Then, I don't know, a PtP and then a Clown book and somewhere in there a Bookshelf Bingo book.... None of them are playing kindly with each other.

Tell me again why we do these things?

message 168: by LaurLa (new)

LaurLa | 5085 comments I'm starting mine today but I don't know if I'll get it done. Unfortunately it's the longer Murderbot book and I have some other stuff going on today and won't get a lot of reading time until later this evening.

Don't forget to include how MKat can check the location. It looks like for this one you can find it in the book blurb.

ilovebakedgoods (Teresa) (ilovebakedgoods) | 86 comments Gonna be a bit before I finish my book. I read a memoir, forgetting we can’t use non-fiction for this. About to start a book that will work but I may be helping a friend move today so not sure how much I’ll get done today 😖

Are you saying "Pacific Northwest" isn't specific enough? Considering it also mentions the FBI which is an American agency, I thought that would be enough. Good thing I am a Librarian.

No, that isn't what I meant at all. You said "set in Pacific Northwest", without saying how MKat can check it. I just meant that you needed to quote the book blurb. Or, as you are a librarian, add the setting to the book's info and then say that. :)

As I am not a librarian, I had to search all the tags for my book. :)

message 185: by LaurLa (new)

LaurLa | 5085 comments I'm sorry, I didn't mean that to sound as snarky as it did. I just meant I didn't realize I had to call it out if the info was on the book's main page. But I've done so now and hopefully all is well.

You didn't sound snarky. I just get defensive very easily. I just didn't want MKat saying you needed to post a correction. I know how frustrating it is to realize you did it wrong. :)

message 188: by Laura (new)

Laura | 1148 comments I'm going to read the next on in this series next, but it doesn't have anything in the blurb, book data, or tags that ties it to the USA. If only I knew a librarian who could take care of that!

Anyway, I know Berit, you said you could do 2. Are you still good for 2 or should I post my next one when I finish it?

Task 8 - 60. Read 6 books with MPG Historical Romance.

Books selected for this task need to be MPG Historical Romance. 'Historical' and 'Romance' do not need to be combined and can be combined with other words like 'MM Romance', but both must be MPG.
