Welcome to the The Golem and the Jinni Buddy Read Discussion thread! This thread officially opens on October 28th and anyone can join at any time. Please keep in mind that spoilers are allowed in this thread but only up to the group's current reading place. Do not spoil the book if you've read further than the group. Hello!
Have you started the book?

I did and it feels slow for now. I don't know where this is going, it will be just a story about the characters?

The slow pace exhasperates me, but I love the writing <3 It makes me introduce in the minds of every character. Even if I'm not sure if they are main characters, secondary or just a one-scene story.

It seems that I was right; this book is about characters and -for now- there's little plot. There are a lot of unrelated characters, but maybe they will have something in common, somehow?? I think that the jinni was the one that possesed the ice-cream man, though none of them remembers.

What are your thoughts? Any theory? <3

Chapter 13
They've finally met! I was looking forward for it, and I love their conversation. From people that try to look human but don't understand humanity. 
I still don't know what would happen to all the characters, because every time Chava met someone, it falls ill. I'm scared of what Schaalman would do when he finds Chava. I like her, and I like her free.

In conclusion, the writing was so good, though it was pretty slow. It's based on characters instead of plot, but halfaway I started to enjoy it more and more :)
