Update about the 2025 movie version of Klara (called TEARS AND RAIN)

The film adaptation of Klara and the Sun by Kazuo Ishiguro is currently in production, with the following updates:

Cast: Jenna Ortega will play the lead role of Klara, an Artificial Friend designed to prevent loneliness. Amy Adams will play Josie, the mother who buys Klara for her teenager. Other cast members include Mia Tharia, Aran Murphy, Natasha Lyonne, and Simon Baker.
Director: Taika Waititi will direct the film.
Production: Principal photography began in January 2024 at Silverlight Studios in Wanaka and in Auckland in early April. The working title for the film is Tears and Rain.

Release: The film is scheduled for release in the United States in 2025.

Production companies: The film is being produced by Heyday Films and Sony's 3000 Pictures. David Heyman, Garrett Basch, and Taika Waititi are producing the film, and Ishiguro will serve as an executive producer.
Screenwriter: Dahvi Waller wrote the original draft of the screenplay.

This Ishiguro book affected me most of the recent books by this author. Very sad ending.
