I started this with no small amount of trepidation but despite the topic, it wasn't as depressing as I thought. I think this is because it is after the "deed" was done and she was getting some help and actually healing. It was actually quite good to listen as she finds herself and building new relationships with friends who understand her.
It was frustrating when she got back to "real life" and the interactions with her family and school friends but then again, I'm not even sure how I'd react / behave etc if anyone I love tried to do this "deed". I do love that everyone learns in this book and the ending is somewhat hopeful.
