Fred Oliver | 9 comments Hi, Fred Oliver here. I have a better image for my book: Dormant Angels" It is the exact same image except that it is like a 3d image in the sense that it shows the book slightly tilted. How can I change it?

Martin | 36159 comments Authors cannot change cover images.
Images should show just the front cover so a flat image is better than 3D

That,s kind of funny, your response appears with a 3d image of a book "Old Wounds" being advertised next to your comment! So, you are saying that it is "prohibited" and "against Goodreads Policy" to have such an image?

Martin | 36159 comments No, I'm just saying '...a flat image is better than 3D'

Well, ok. I can't do it from my side. I thought a Librarian was supposed to help me.

We would not exchange a flat image for "3D" one.

Nor do we have anything to do with adverts.

Fred Oliver | 9 comments Ok. So it IS Goodreads policy? You said no, that it wasn't Goodreads policy. I'm confused. I'm talking of my books cover image as an author, not advertising.

You mentioned an advertised book to justify using a 3D image.

I'm sorry Scott. Didn't mean to take much of your time. Are you a Librarian or just a commentator? I just want to officially know whether, as an author, is it Goodreads policy/rules that the cover cannot be in a 3d format. Thanks.

Scott | 9625 comments You're welcome to check the Librarian manual yourself.

I'm sorry Scott. But, are you a Librarian here/ I find your answer disrespectful.

Scott | 9625 comments I am sorry that you feel that way. You were told multiple times by multiple librarians that we would not replace a flat cover image with a 3D book image. You refuse to accept it. The Librarian Manual as accessible to everyone, or you may contact support.

You are correct. I just wanted to hear: "Yes, it is Goodreads policy that book images cannot be changed by authors under any circumstances." But thanks. I get the message.
