I do not know I don’t remember what they were." hey sorry I don’t know where to find Danielle to reply to her message. I have no idea but do you think you could ask her to send me the books I’m supposed to choose from to my inbox so what I get from your explanation is I’m supposed to book pick three books for her and somebody’s gonna pick three books for me from my list. Is that correct?

message 52: by Karen ♐ (new)

Karen ♐ (kmk1214) | 2364 comments Anna, I'm assuming you only want one book picked. If you want two and/or a bonus, please let me know. My choice for you is The Hollywood Jinx by Sariah Wilson

Hi Anna, sorry it took me so long to get back to you!

Click here to find Danielle's post with her list to choose from.
Most people participating in Dusty Bookshelf post book covers rather than just titles, can you work with that or is it a problem? Let me know, I'm sure we can find a workaround if it's an issue. 🙂

Karen chose The Hollywood Jinx for you from your list. She only picked one book for now since you didn't specify how many you wanted, so let her know if you would like more.

Hi Karen,

I choose The Wedding (The Notebook, #2) by Nicholas Sparks because you'll finish the Notebook series. For your second pick, I chose Sirens in Bliss (Nights in Bliss, Colorado #10) by Sophie Oak for you to read. You seem so far along in your Texas Sirens series, so I hope you are closer to finishing it. As for your bonus, I chose The Confession (Unbroken Heavenly Rising) by Shayla Black. It sounds like an interesting series, too. Happy reading!

Hi Anna! Danielle reported her speed of reading as "hare" which means 2 books. But she also requested a bonus book, so you'll pick a total of 3 books for her.

I remembered why I don’t like horror…I absolutely did not enjoy the book but I kept reading because I had to know how it all turned out. Although I skimmed at times due to squeamish-ness. It was a weird reading experience for sure.

Michelle | 1602 comments Completion Post - Book 1

Blood Vow (Black Dagger Legacy, #2) by J.R. Ward

Book - Blood Vow by
Author - J.R. Ward
Date Read - 10/8/24
Rating - 5 stars
Review - I love this series and it's always a 5 star read for me. Black Dagger Legacy is an offshoot of Black Dagger Brotherhood Series and it runs during the same time line. The Mc's in this series are the students in the training class that the Brother's hold. So you get a bit of what's going on in both series. Axe is one of the trainee's, but he is considered a commoner among the glymera. He has been orphaned by the raids and is trying to better his life by going to the training classes despite being a little rough around the edges. He meets and begins to date one of his classmates cousins who is considered classy and rich. Meanwhile in the brother's mansion Rhage and Mary are attempting to adopt an orphaned little girl and things have been going well until the child's uncle shows up.
There are many LOL moments, sad moments, and seriously spicy moments. Such a great series!

Unfinished Witchness (Haunted Haven Book 1) by Ada Bell
Rating: 4 Stars
Review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Enjoyable cozy mystery. I'd read the rest of the series.

A Mountain Man Walks into a coffee shop (Harlow Mountain Men #1) by Mal Trevino
Rating: 5 Stars
Review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I could easily feel the emotions in this. The author created a engrossing world in such a short book. I would read the rest of the series.

Danielle Gypsy Soul (afdaniellet) | 1919 comments Finished:

Mortal Heart (Alice Worth World, #1) by Lisa Edmonds
I enjoyed it - not quite as much as the original series but still good

Pumpkin Patch Cutie (Holiday Surprise, #1) by Lacey Daize
Omega books aren't my favorite but this was cute

message 89: by Marty (new)

Marty (martymill) | 1299 comments I managed to finish all three this month!

They were a mixed bag.

Emily's House by Amy Belding Brown - I do love a well-researched and well written historical novel. I didn't know about Margaret Maher's contributions to Emily Dickinson's legacy (Margaret's the narrator). It was great to learn about her as well as to enjoy another fictional account of the Dickinson family. Five stars and well deserved.

The Writing Retreat by Julia Bartz - I liked this book, mostly. It was engaging for the first two thirds. I've always enjoyed books within books. I enjoyed the ramp up to the big reveal, although I was fairly certain I knew what this retreat really was. Some of the plot devices were trope-y, and it was about 10 chapters too long. I gave it three stars because of that. Still it was a fun read overall.

Good Morning, Midnight by Lily Brooks-Dalton - This was a quirky but lyrically written dystopian novel. The parallel stories of Augustine and Sully were studies in existential opposites - one retreating from the unknown world to fashion his own, the other desperately trying to return to a world that might or might now have a future. The prose was lovely to read. I gave it four stars.

message 90: by RachelG. (new)

RachelG. | 253 comments Finished both books this month:

Gobbelino London & A Contagion of Zombies- Great series and I really enjoyed having zombies in the story. This time of year it's great to have some spooky elements.
A Symphony of Echoes- Everyone I know really enjoys this series and I am starting to as well. It is not one I could binge read, however.

Thanks Oleander for picking these for me!
