T. C. C. | 2 comments I just finished Tim Alberta's book, The Kingdom, The Power, and the Glory: American Evangelicals in an Age of Extremism, and after writing a review and trying to rate the book, discovered that it was impossible... The book listing page has the following message as a banner at the top of the page: "This item does not meet our catalog guidelines and can no longer be rated or reviewed..." After clicking the "Learn more" link, and reading the GoodReads catalog guidelines, it did not appear that any of the stated guidelines were relevant to the book's omission from being rated or reviewed.

I am therefore concerned that, perhaps because of its highly politicized and critical content of a specific group, that an [unscrupulous] moderator may have censored the book's ability to be further reviewed? Other than the generalized guidelines for catalog inclusion, there were NO specific reasons provided for the book's exclusion from member or viewer review.

I apologize if I am in error—I do not intend to be sensationalist—but joining this group and posting to this forum were the recommendation of the GoodReads website for concerns about such things, and I do not know any other recourse of inquiry at the moment. I am happy to be educated if a moderator would be so kind as to inform me why Alberta's book has been restricted and censored from further review. Thank you.

Renske | 12220 comments This looks to be a purely technical issue and not related to the content of the book. In this case only the staff can solve it, so I will send them a message.

T. C. C. | 2 comments I just realized that the version of the book on which this banner message appeared is on the Kindle version of Alberta's book. When I switched versions to "Hardback," the banner disappeared, and I was able to post a review.

I do not know if this means that a Kindle version is unsanctioned by the publisher (?)...but a Kindle version appears to be available for sale on Amazon.com. So I am still curious as to why this particular version of Alberta's book would be unavailable to review or rate...

Hi T.C.

You may not have seen the message above your's.

Lot of bugs & problems on GR at the moment & absolutely innocuous books have experienced them.
