The Road to Station X
It's a giggle from start to finish. All through it, I kept thinking, 'If only that could be me.'
She is from a privileged background and I'm sure she could have sat out the war somewhere far safer. And privilege does open doors, but the girl, okay with a few friends, gets herself a job in factory. From there it becomes a real adventure and is so full of laughter.
She gets herself a job with the codebreakers at Bletchley Park. Unbeknownst to her, one day her godfather comes to visit. Amazing, don't you think? They wouldn't let any old Tom, Dick or Harry in there would they? Good job her godfather had a few connections: being, Vice Admiral, Lord Louis Mountbatten, Chief of Combined Operations, might have helped.
That made me laugh so much.
I so enjoyed this. I even put it under my pillow before sleep.

Crush (Book 2 - Crave Series) - YA fantasy series about vampires and the like, very Twilight-esc but there are many differences.

I'm reading "Napoleon: A Life" by Andrew Roberts, it's really great. if you don't know much about him I think it would be a great place to start reading.

ya know for the Szn.

Magpie by Elizabeth Day: This one is a psychological thriller about a seemingly perfect couple and their new roommate who starts to unravel their lives. It’s got some serious Single White Female vibes. So far, it’s super gripping and keeps you on the edge of your seat. Definitely recommend if you’re into suspenseful reads
Broadway Butterfly by Sara DiVello: Set in the 1920s, this true-crime novel dives into the unsolved murder of a flapper named Dot King. It’s packed with historical details, scandal, and a twisty plot that keeps you guessing. Loving the mix of real history and mystery
Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel: Just started this one, and it’s a deep dive into the life of Thomas Cromwell in the court of Henry VIII. The writing is rich and immersive, though it can be a bit dense at times. Excited to see where it goes!

I love Kim Harrison's books and have read most of them. I should check to see if there's any new ones. Enjoy

I have a love / hate feel for the witchy series of Rachel Morgan, of which Fistful of Charms is one. I'm about 80% percent through it, and it's still worth reading, though the main character is wimpy? impulsive? self destructive? maybe all of the above. But she's also fiercely loyal, smart and talented. The book is from 2006.

I also recommend any Terry Pratchett book.

there is SIMON STANHOPE youtube channel
Bitesized audio classics is an enjoyful experience

Those three are just a few if you want to feel real strong characters and emotion - if you want thriller or edge of your seat : Spy Master - A flicker in the Dark- The last Mrs. Parish-
If you want history but in a interesting good read
Then : All the Light we cannot see - The Women - On a Night of a Thousand Stars - The Lion Women of Tehran- and actually The Nightingale fits this. While they are not based on real actual events there is a lot of historical events in these novels and the stories feel so real . Every one of these books I couldn’t put down easily.

I just finished Ask for Andrea by Noelle W. Ihli. it's a bit of PG 13 spook-fest about a guy who stalks women from a dating app only to meet up with them, drug them, rape them, and kill them. Three of their ghosts stick around to try to stop him.
