I need friend advice

So I have this friend that used to go to my school but she had to moved schools an hour away so I don't see her anymore but the distance is getting really hard because I havnt seen her in a year and yea we face time and text a bit so we're still friends but recently since school has started back I'm really busy and can't always text her and I'm the one keeping our friendship alive and yea I know she cares and ik she gets super excited when I text her but it just gets hard when I want to still be friends with her but she never texts me first and then we will go atleast a month without talking and then she thinks I've ghosted her when I didn't but she should've just texted me and I've told her she can text me anytime and she knows she can and she doesn't text much anyway but either way it just gets hard to keep a friendship with her. Idk what to do because I really want to stay friends with her but it gets hard at times so I need some help guys

I relate to always texting first, it's so annoying isn't it. I feel like u should tell her that you wanna still be friends but your annoyed that it's one sided. you could ask her if she still wants to be friends still cus it sounds like she's putting zero effort into y'all's friendship.
