The feeling of desperation in the prologue intrigues me.
I haven't read any fantasy in quite a time. Might be a good choice to change things up a bit.

Definitely a bit of a dark beginning but just hopeful enough to see where it leads.

I'm about halfway through this. I'm finding the main story intriguing, I like Vintage and Noon, could live without Tor's sex scenes personally (it's like the author wanted to have sexy vampires without having generic sexy vampires), but I'm looking forward to where the story leads.
