The default edition is missing ISBN numbers which are contained in the second identical edition.

Because this book has almost 180,000 ratings, only Support can merge the editions:

Where are you getting the ratings number? What I get is 37,684.

I believe Kay's message is misleading. The important figure is the number of times an edition was shelved, about 180k times in this case, not the number of ratings (about 37k) or reviews (around 4.5k).

Anyway, in my experience even the support team cannot merge such an edition, and they will need to escalate this to the dev team. I hope they are smart enough to move the ISBN/ASIN and then merge the other way around, if you get my drift.

That's right, David. I also hope that's the approach they take.

I did get a response from Support that they've turned this over to the development team and that they'll let me know when it's been resolved.
