I had high hopes for this book-*sigh*, the other book by this author, that I read, Three Bags Full was delightful. This fell very short of that.

Agnes Sharp owns a home that she shares with 5 other people. They all older and none of them want to be dependent on family or live in assisted care.

There are a series of murders and of course the old folk are on the trail to solve them.

Each one of them is quirky and all could have been great characters.
Somewhere along the line they all get lost and you just cannot connect to them. Subtle hints are dropped about their previous lives, more hints are dropped about what their current state of health is. There are flashbacks to Agnes youth, but lord help me, I couldn't really follow them.

This book was not tagged "sad" IMO it was a sad attempt 😉
