(adding at the things that @Richaar says) if you want to start with a light dark romance, you can start with the Twisted series (I know that some people hate it and some phrases are crindgy bit for start I think it's ok).

I really love the Powerless books but it is an unfinished series. I also really like the Caraval series which is fantasy and Just Your Local Bisexual Disaster which is realistic fiction.
