The first book in the city watch series. I've read most of the city watch books but not this one so it was fun to see how it all began. A secret society has decided to raise a dragon and in the process of defeating it have a king, of their choosing, rule Ankh-Morpork. Unfortunately the dragon has other ideas. It was a bit odd seeing The watch with only 4 members. I loved seeing how Vimes and Sybil's relationship began. The Librarian also gets to temporarily become a member of The Watch which was fun. Pratchett is one of my favorite authors so I'm glad I finally got to read this book.
