Jennifer Abrahamsen | 15 comments I'm not sure if there are many of you out there like me who have spent a bunch of money sending physical copies to "ARC Readers" demanding physical copies because they like them better, then hear nothing from the people who got a copy of a free book. Not even a thank you, let alone a review or suggestions for improvements/likes or dislikes....

Anyway, I want to give a shoutout to Riley Rae Vanhoy, an ARC reader who posted on this forum. I took her up on her offer to read my upcoming book as an ARC. She sent me an email detailing where she would review it. When she was done reading, she sent me her review, posted it on Goodreads and on her own accounts, then proceeded to actually answer my e-mails when I asked her a few follow up questions about what she didn't like and how it could be improved. As "payment" she only asks for a physical copy of the book to be sent when it comes out. She doesn't know I am writing this and I'm not sure she will even see it, but if my fellow authors see her posts about being a new ARC reader....I recommend her! (not because she gave my book a 5-star review...because she didn't, but because she actually followed through on her claims)

P.S. Riley if you are reading this...the book has not released yet, but when it does, you can be SURE you will get your physical copy!

Mariaan Belinfante (mariaanbelinfante) | 6 comments That's totally unethical. In future just send out the ebooks Great that 1 ARC reader gave you support. I'm only to happy when my authors send me epub copies to review and it's convenient as I get it immediately

Jennifer Abrahamsen | 15 comments Yeah, it's a shame. I understand why people wouldn't want to sit and read on a computer for a .pdf etc, but there are always those that ruin it for others. I think sending physical ARCs will be a thing of the past for me. :)

Paolo Danese | 19 comments Thanks for sharing this. Must be upsetting. It's already upsetting with some digital ARC "readers" who are clearly just hoarders seeking free stuff...I guess the best strategy would be to slowly build a long-term ARC team one by one with trusted reader like the one you mentioned.

Mariaan Belinfante (mariaanbelinfante) | 6 comments My tablet is my library, I've got a 10", and I even took it with me overseas on holiday to complete my ARC's. I don't use my laptop Ps I won a signed book from Rebecca Hefner and it took 3 mths via how many countries to get to South Africa We both thought it was lost in the post

Jennifer Abrahamsen | 15 comments Yeah, be overseas shipping is definitely tough! I think for an arc reader, the tablet method is the way to go!

Addison Michlig | 15 comments Im curious what your ARC is (if it is still available) because I love giving people good criticism back if I find anything and reviews(you don’t have to)
