Joker
description
The Joker is a supervillain clown with green hair, white skin, and red lips. He has no superhuman abilities. Instead, he uses his expertise in chemical engineering to develop poisonous or lethal concoctions and thematic weapons. Sometimes he works with other supervillains but these collaborations usually collapse due to his desire for chaos.

Complete the following tasks
Arm 1: Read a chain of 3 books with Red, White & Green covers (no other colors allowed - except for text)
Arm 2: Read a chain of 3 books with weapons on the cover
Leg 1: Read a chain of 3 books with the word POISON in the text
Leg 2: Read a chain of 3 books with the authors initials in JOKER

Give me 2 days! I have to finish one so the library doesn't repossess it, but then I can squeeze in this one.

Looks like Louise has one left and I have two. I have a ton of library audios right now, but what's a few more, right? So I checked out two Stephanie Plum books, which will finish of this clown for me. I just need to finish The Count of Monte Cristo today/tomorrow morning, then I have one more audio (The Knight and the Moth) to listen to before the library repossesses it. Then I should be able to knock these out quickly. (They are only 7 hours each!)

message 264: by LaurLa (new)

LaurLa | 380 comments As you know... No rush!! We'll just keep plugging way at these as we can 😁

message 265: by Louise (new)

Louise | 73 comments Added my poison book

message 266: by Laura (new)

Laura | 166 comments I finished one of my last 2 books, but I forgot how much I really despise Stephanie Plum. So I need a palate cleanser or 2 before I do the last one. :)

message 267: by LaurLa (new)

LaurLa | 380 comments Ugh - on one hand, I'm glad to hear you say that because I lost my taste for Stephanie Plum a while ago! On the other hand, I'm sorry you feel stuck having to read another one... maybe you can find something else in the meantime that will work?

I already have it checked out from the library. It's the color cover task, so I don't really want to start over trying to find something for that task. I'll see how I feel about it tomorrow.

There was a book, in the upper teens, I think, where I thought it might be improving and Stephanie might be learning some things, but then the next one went right back to business as usual.

This one, #26, gave me the same feeling that maybe things would change going forward. So I might read one more at some point.

Laura | 166 comments Finished and checked us in. However, it has been a little over a week since we checked in our last ghost in Ghostbusters, so Donna may be trying to end these long ongoing challenges.

message 272: by LaurLa (new)

LaurLa | 380 comments I was wondering that as well but the ghostbusters, at least, was listed in the TCF newsletter as an on-going challenge. And she's responded to Q&A to another player about continuing on their own, so she's probably just been busy for a few days.

message 285: by Laura (new)

Laura | 166 comments Our spreadsheet isn't accepting Ribcage Arm 1 or Leg 2 in the Clown Task column. I left a note for Donna in the Q&A.

message 286: by LaurLa (new)

LaurLa | 380 comments Oh boy... fun task!
I'll have to go searching for balloons....

message 287: by Laura (new)

Laura | 166 comments I found a few on this list that were already on my TBR. Including a 6 hour Non-fiction that has the audio on Libby!

Butterface (The Hartigans, #1) by Avery Flynn - on KU, has a 9 in the page count, and Yellow writing on cover. I'll probably read this one really quick. And the audio is included with the KU check-out.

message 289: by LaurLa (new)

LaurLa | 380 comments I found this one! woo hoo! Good page count but I have to check what else it works for.

LaurLa | 380 comments Letting you know I'm kind of moving slow with these - especially if I can't use Psychology for Psychological. My books are all 'planned' for the month but if they don't work with the TW rounds... well, you know how it goes!

Donna said she would take Psychology.

I got lucky on that one. I was reading Where the Crawdads Sing off of the list for Turf Wars and it worked there.

I think I've finally found one for Skeletal. And it works for Sous for TW. Here's hoping my library hold comes in for that one soon.

No pressure, but if you don't particularly want to read your Psychology book, I just read White Trash: The 400-Year Untold History of Class in America and it is tagged Psychology 10 times. When someone reads 2 for a task, it doesn't always have to be an even exchange. :)

message 297: by LaurLa (new)

LaurLa | 380 comments Nothing is lining up well with TW. I'll get there.

message 298: by Laura (new)

Laura | 166 comments LaurLa wrote: "Nothing is lining up well with TW. I'll get there."

That's fine. Just offering it if you need it, since I already read it and was noticed the Psychology while checking to see if by some miracle it fit GOTM. :)

message 299: by LaurLa (new)

LaurLa | 380 comments I messed up. I thought I had a replacement for my Skeletal book but turns out I missed a letter. I'm starting my balloon book this weekend. If you guys don't want to keep waiting on me, then I'll take you up on the Psychology book you offered Laura.

message 300: by Laura (new)

Laura | 166 comments I thought you finished your psychology book? I could have sworn I saw it on the Turf Wars sheet for last round. But no problem. I’ll add it to the spreadsheet in a bit.

My original Skeletal book is in my plan to read for this next round. I can offer that one as well.
