Tawnya | 4086 comments This is for the work ID:

please merge:
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This one needs to be merged as well, but I cannot separate the book it needs to merged with. The top one is the book to be kept and the bottom is the one that needs merging:
David Raz (davidraz) | 13127 comments I merged and recombined the first one.
As for the second one, it was shelved less than five times so you don't need a superlibrarian to do it. You can't split the target because it is the most popular edition of the work. If you would want to split the most popular edition, the way to do it is split away all other editions. However, in this case there is no need to do any splitting since deleting an edition merges it with the most popular edition anyway.
Tawnya | 4086 comments I tried that. The second most popular refused to separate from the most popular. I encountered this when I was doing Dan Brown as well.
Thank you.
David Raz (davidraz) | 13127 comments Yes, it is a well known but undocumented feature that extremely highly shelved editions can only be split by a super. The exact number is unknown, but If you encounter such a split in the future, let us know and we will do it for you.
As I already noted, in this case no split is necessary. Just combine and delete.
