This one: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2... is probably the only valid book record from that whole combined thread (should be combined with the original work).

Thank you so much, I know it is a lot. I would do it myself but it has too many reviews/ratings so I am not able to delete them on my own.

It would be really helpful if you would go back and number each edition in your list. That will help us keep track of where we are in the merges.

Hi Martina

I noticed that you requested superlibrarian assistance for this task. Since you’re a librarian, you should be able to handle this yourself. If the editions were not shelved, simply set their status to invalid. If any editions were shelved, they should be merged with the appropriate target, which you didn’t specify.

Just a reminder: superlibrarians are generally needed for merges involving editions that have been shelved five times or more. For other cases, you should be able to manage the updates without additional help.

I see you've resolved most of these yourself.

35) I don't see an issue with this one. It's not uncommon for a print edition to have an ASIN that isn't the ISBN10.
36) If you'd like us to merge this for you, here's what you'll need to do first:

A. There are currently 10,537 editions of Jane Eyre in the database. Find one that matches this edition, specifically a Wordsworth hardcover with this exact cover.
B. Split the edition you found. You may need to do this from the combine page.
C. Split this edition.
D. Combine the editions from steps B and C.
E. Provide us with the links to B and C.

I'm not trying to be difficult, but with only two active superlibrarians working on this folder and many more librarians overall, we need to focus our efforts where they're most needed. If you have questions, use the "Questions (from Librarians only)" folder.

thank you for both of your answers.

I actually tried merging/deleting those editions yesterday myself but I wasn't able to do it for some reason (I guess my Goodreads was glitching or something - I kept getting "this page does not exist"). I thought the site was simply rejecting my efforts because there were too many reviews/ratings and that's why I decided to make a request here :-) I promise I was not trying to purposely add more unnecessary work for you guys.

I tried it again after your first response and it finally worked (but since I was still at work I didn't want to "waste my time" by responding to you - sorry about that - and rather focused on merging).

I managed to delete/merge majority of those editions except for #10 (this one apparently share the same ISBN with two other editions), #35 (I came to the same conclusion as you and kept it as it is) and #36 (which seemed like it needed more work done and I simply did not have the time at that moment).

Thanks for the suggestion on how to fix it (#36) tho - I'll try to find the Wordsworth hardcover edition with this exact cover, but I guess it'll take a while since there is so many editions. I'll get back to you when I manage to get through them all (either successful or defeated :-) ).

In the meantime - would it be possible to combine this edition: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2... with the original work (linked in "this topic is about" section of the request)? I would do it myself but I am still having some technical difficulties with the site's functionality - it works just fine one moment and then glitching like crazy in the next one.

#10 is simply is an un-shelved edition without ISBN. I simply set it to Invalid. There is no need to do anything else.
I split #35 and the valid edition and recombined with the main Jane Eyre edition. While tedious, it was uneventful.
