That doesn't clarify what makes it a series per Goodreads policies, number of volumes might make it a series to you or your publisher but that's not what makes it a series on Goodreads. We can't risk our librarian rights creating a series against policy. Please read the pinned post on this folder "Requesting a new series on Goodreads" to know the information that should be included with a series request.

If the series doesn't meet the criteria it shouldn't be created.

Dani Ryan | 35 comments Sorry I’ve never been asked this before. I know what makes a series which is why I’m asking but if you need confirmation, then here it is:

This book will have a second book out soon that has characters in common. Meaning characters from book 1 will appear in book 2 and vice versa. There is a shared universe, in this case part of the same small town and the same overarching storyline related to the small town.

Thanks! Sometimes the book description or information on Amazon or publisher/author sites makes it clear, so we don't need to ask. However, in this case, I couldn't find anything. Another question: the description for 'Up to Snow Good' mentions that it's a novella. Are the other books in the series also novellas, or are they full-length? I'm not asking to be difficult; I just need this information to create the series properly.

Dani Ryan | 35 comments No worries. Full-length

Alright, per Goodreads policies, when a series includes novellas and full-length books, novellas should be numbered with decimals. Therefore, we can't list this one as the first book but rather as 0.5. It should also be marked as a non-primary work since full-length novels receive whole numbers and are considered primary works. I know it's listed on Amazon as Book 1 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D8HD1LDV but Goodreads has different policies "Novellas and short stories should be listed using decimals.' https://help.goodreads.com/s/article/...

Dani Ryan | 35 comments I’m so so sorry, that was wrong! I wasn’t thinking when I responded I guess. The entire series is a series of novellas. Can you fix it please?
