I have a lot (I mean a lot) of stitching homework to do at the moment, so I thought I would resort to listening to my audio collection of the Harry Potter books, read by Stephen Fry. It’s only been four years but I could probably read them at least once a year and not get bored.
This is the first volume (short and tightly written compared with the later ones, lol). Downtrodden 11 year old Harry discovers he’s a wizard. Gets to go to a magical school. Makes the first friends he’s ever had. Learns to play Quidditch. Gets the best of a bad guy.
This book is just one long happy sigh. I am itching for my granddaughter (currently 5 years old) to be old enough to read this with. It’s a bit dark for her at the moment, though, so I will need to stay patient. Scoping out the Lego sets in the meantime…
