I prefer the discreet covers, especially for my bookshelf and on my kindle. My husband and I share a KU acc and he gets all the emails and recommendations with all the shirtless guys. I don't mine the cartoon covers.

I read the book long shot by kennedy Ryan but the version I got didn’t have anybody on the cover so when I saw another cover of it with an actual guy SHIRTLESS on it I was like oh. he looked nothing like how I imagined he would and it was kinda cringey

same, kinda. i’m not the biggest fan of cartoon covers and i hate the shirtless men on the cover of spicy books, but fantasy usually has really awesome covers that include people (i know its mainly just realistic artwork but i count it). like the OG Ember in The Ashes covers by Sabaa Tahir - those are PERFECT 👌🏼

but the original covers for the four horseman series and the twisted series… 🤢
