It's actually by another poet Mohsin Bin Mushtaq who wrote it in 2016. Agha Shahid Ali has not written it.

This quote in question is not part of any Agha Shahid Ali's work. Please delete or edit the author.

I'm not familiar with either poets' works & this one isn't on Quote Investigator. Do you have a source?

He had tweeted it in 2016 but the tweet doesn't exist there. But I can guarantee that this is not from Agha Shahid Ali's work.

I'm not sure which poet you mean tweeted it. I have added the tag attributed no source to this quote, but I'm not comfortable deleting it, even though I do believe you.

Please contact Support (Staff) & see if they will delete it for you or attribute it to the other poet.

Hi Carol,

I understand what you mean. The issue is that the author used to post these poems on his twitter - which he has since deleted. Another thing is that this quote does not feature in any of Agha Shahid Ali's poems.

Would it not be possible to have it removed given that it is not Agha Shahid Ali's verse?

As I said in Message #4 try Support (Staff) I am a volunteer, so I have to be a bit careful as someone could flag me for removing this without any proof. But staff have a bit more leeway I think.

I would link to this thread when you contact them, so that they can see you have already tried here.
